Marimar Episode 91 - The one where Marimar has a sister

Marimar Episode 91 – The one about Marimar having a sister
Aired in the UAE 24 December 2007, Monday

Vanessa Mae reveals to Marimar about herself and the daughter she gave away at birth, a child sired by Gustavo Aldama, Marimar’s father. Marimar is excited at the thought that she has a sibling.

Corazon doubts if Marimar indeed does have a sister and tells Marimar so. Marimar wants to talk to her aunt, Esperanza, to seek her advice and ask if she can truly trust this woman, Vanessa Mae.

Dra. Ria meets with Julio and she asks him about Renato. She requests if the young man could help talk to Renato so the elder man could recall his past and gain his life back.

Monica asks Angelika where they are headed as both walk briskly. Monica is cautious as both haven’t got any money. Angelika says she’s got a thousand pesos. Monica is pleased and asks her friend where she got the money. Angelika frankly tells Monica, “Asan pa? Di sa bulsa ng asawa mo!” that she stole some money from Diego’s pockets.

Julio can see that the lady doctor has a soft spot for her latest patient and he tells her, “Nahuhulog na ang loob mo sa kanya.” (You’re falling for him.)

Corazon tells Marimar to consider that Vanessa Mae could just be a poser, someone out to con Marimar. But Marimar is more excited about the fact that if Vanessa Mae is telling the truth and she does have a sister, who is she? And where is she? How will Marimar find her?

Monica is shocked at Angelika’s revelation. “Kinukupitan mo si Diego?!” (You’re stealing money from Diego?)

Angelika reasons she is just borrowing it and will pay later when she’s got more money. “Hiram lang, babayaran din.”

Monica tries to tell her friend something, “Eh kasi naisip ko lang…” (You know I was thinking…)

But Angelika cuts her off, “Wag ka nang mag-isip. Wala kang isip.” (Stop thinking. You are incapable of thinking. You have no brains.)

Sergio visits Cruzita who is very happy to see her father. He tells Marimar that they are going out for some bonding time. Then he asks her is she isn’t going. “Hindi ka ba sasama?” Sergio’s eyes pleads with Marimar to join them.

While Angelika and Monica are walking they bump into Angelika’s father, Jose. Angelika turns from this bitch into a supplicating child calling for her father to recognize her. Jose, obviously drunk tells them, “Anak? Di kita anak kasi baog ako.” (Child? You are not my child because I cannot have children. I’m sterile.)

Marimar tries to avoid looking into Sergio’s eyes as she reasons that she’s too busy with work. But Cruzita pleads with her to come join them, “Please mommy, happy ako kung kasama ka namin.” (I’d be happy if you’re with us.)

Angelika presses on telling her father that she is his daughter. “Tay, ako (ang) anak nyo.” (I am your child.)

It takes all of Marimar’s will power to reject her daughter’s pleas. She tells Cruzita that she is truly busy but if she finishes her work early, she will call them and follow. Cruzita seems to accept this and Sergio can be seen to show a bit of disappointment. Marimar tells Cruzita to be a good girl. The child replies, “Lagi naman po akong good girl,” telling her mother that she is always one.

To Sergio, Marimar adds, “Ingat kayo ha?” (Take care.) Sergio kisses Marimar and both get surprised at how normal the kiss went, almost as if it would have happened on its own, but of course they pretended not to notice.

Angelika is left depressed when even her own father rejects her. She laments, “Bakit lahat ng tao ayaw sa akin? Ganon ba ako ka walang-kwenta ha? Lahat ng mahal ko, ayaw sa akin.” (Why does everyone dislike me? Am I that useless? Everyone I love rejects me.) She yells at Monica to leave her alone.

A while later Angelika is drunk like her father earlier. She gulps down a bottle of alcohol while walking. She sits on the curb and recalls Sergio’s hurtful words: that she was just an object that Sergio and Renato toyed with. She also recalls her own father’s rejection of her: 'hindi kita anak!'

Sergio takes Cruzita to work. At the Santibanez Motors office she meets her tito (uncle) Antonio and Arturo. Arturo suggests, “Pwede be tita Arturo na lang tawag mo sa akin?” (Can you call me auntie Arturo instead?) Antonio just laughs and shakes his head, “Arturo ikaw talaga.” Hoping Arturo would stop confusing the child.

Ria visits Renato and she tells him that he seems to be getting better. Renato agrees and adds that if he gets really better, “Aayain kitang mag-date,” he’ll take Ria out on a date. Ria reminds him that he is married. “Renato, may asawa ka na.”

A very drunk Angelika crosses the street and gets hit by a speeding van.

Renato nods in agreement but reveals, “Naaalala ko, puro masama ang pinagsamahan namin.” (I can remember that our relationship was mostly bad.)

He admits that he doesn’t fully know himself nor does he fully know Ria; but adds, “Pero gusto kong malaman mo na gusto kita.” (I want you to know that I like you.)

Ria looks on Renato, a smile growing on her lips. He gets the courage to ask her, “Kung manliligaw ba ako sa yo, papayag ka?” (Would you allow me to woo you?)

Angelika lies on the road, unconscious and injured from the collision. One of the pedestrians who saw the accident runs to Angelika.

In her home Vanessa Mae is thinking about her daughter. She prays, “Sana mahanap na kita anak at nang maituwid ko na ang mga naging kasalanan ko.” (I hope I find you soon, my child, so I can correct the wrongs I’ve made in the past.)

Sergio is preparing to leave the office and his friends ask where he is going. He tells them he is off to take Cruzita home and hopefully to see Marimar too. His friends wish that this access to Cruzita would lead to his reconciliation with Marimar. Sergio could only hope. “Sana nga.”

Marimar’s car arrives at the accident and she sees Angelika. It is a case of hit and run. The woman asks Marimar who has gotten off her vehicle to take a close look if she knows the victim. Marimar denies it, “Hindi.” The woman tells her that Angelika needs help badly. Marimar debates within herself whether she is going to help Angelika after all she has done to her or just leave her in the road to die. An angry voice inside her protests against helping her mortal enemy, “Bakit ko siya tutulungan? Mortal kong kaaway si Angelika!”

Sergio is worried, Marimar should have called at least to check on Cruzita by now. It is so unlike her not to check on her daughter. He looks at Cruzita who is happily playing with Arturo but Sergio gets more and more worried as time passes without any news from Marimar.

Marimar makes a decision that truly shows how good she is deep inside , “Sige dalhin natin sa ospital.” (Let’s take her to the hospital.) Marimar’s driver carries Angelika and they drive off to the hospital.

Sergio calls Cruzita telling her daughter that it’s time to go home but Cruzita pleads, “Not yet, I want to stay with you.” Arturo smiles, “Inggit naman ako!” pretending to be envious at how sweet Cruzita is to Sergio. Antonio adds, “Parang gusto ko nang magka-baby!” (Makes we want to have children too!)

Antonio recalls he and his father were very close too. This prompts Cruzita to ask her own father about her grandfather. Sergio becomes serious, “Matagal nang di kami nagkikita.” (It’s been a while since we saw each other.)

Cruzita is curious, “Bakit daddy?” (Why?) Sergio honestly tells her, “Di kami magkasundo noon. Kaya naisip naming magpakalayu-layo na muna sa isa’t isa.” (We didn’t agree on many things then so we decided to steer clear of one another for a while.)

The child feels sorry, “Ang lungkot naman.” (How sad.) Sergio cheers her up as he too makes a decision to mend his relationship with his father, “Dati yon, pero ngayon gusto kong magkasundo na kami.” (That was then, but now I want us to be close.)

Renato continues to convince Ria to give him a chance. “Simple lang, kung gusto mo: Oo; kung ayaw mo, di huwag. Hindi ka humihindi so ibig sabihin, may pag-asa.” (It’s simple, if you like me: yes. If not, then no. But you aren’t saying no so that means I have a chance.)

Ria explains, “Duktor mo ako. At may asawa ka na. Nandito lang ako para tulungan ka.” (I’m your doctor and you’re already married. I’m just here to help.)

Angelika is now in the hospital. She is bleeding and screaming in pain. Marimar looks on her nemesis and pities Angelika for her sufferings. Angelika calls out Sergio’s name, “Sergio tulungan mo ako!” Angelika stubbornly fights with the doctor and nurses even when in pain!

Marimar finally arrives home looking exhausted. Sergio is there, waiting. He tells her, “Madaling araw na.” (It’s the wee hour of the morning.) He looks worried, “May nangyari ba sa iyo?” (Did anything happen to you?)

Marimar looks absorbed in something, “Wala, pumunta ako sa ospital.” (Noting, I went to the hospital.)

Sergio looks more alarmed, “Ospital? Bakit, may nararamdaman ka ba?” (Hospital? Why, is anything wrong?)

Marimar tells him, “Dinala ko si Angelika.” (I took Angelika to the hospital.)

Sergio looks puzzled now. “Si Angelika? Bakit?” (Angelika? Why?)

Marimar tells him what happened, Angelika’s accident, her being in the same place…”Di ko alam kung pinaglalaruan ba talaga kami ni tadhana. Si Angelika ang huling taong gusto kong tulungan.” (I don’t know if fate is playing some trick on us. Angelika is the last person I’d want to help.) She tells Sergio that while Angelika was in pain, she was calling out his name.

Sergio admires how Marimar helped the woman who caused her so much pain. This only makes him love her more as he stresses, “Di ko siya mahal, ikaw ang mahal ko.”

But Marimar tells him to stop, “Hindi pa ako handa,” as she is not yet ready to deal with what he is telling her.

Sergio nods, “Kaya nga ako nandito para patunayan sa iyo.” (I’m here to prove to you how I feel.)

Vanessa Mae takes out a small cloth commonly used as a baby diaper. She looks at it as she cries, asking for forgiveness from the child she gave away. “Mapapatawad mo ba ako? Kasi sa sarili ko di ko mapatawad. Nasaan ka?” (Can you forgive me? I cannot seem to forgive myself. Where are you?)

Angelika comes to and the nurse tells her that she is not yet fully recovered and must rest. The nurse also tells her that a Senora Aldama brought her to the hospital.

Marimar with tia Esperanza, Vanessa Mae and a private investigator hold a meeting. Vanessa Mae ask Marimar whether she believes in her. Marimar frankly admits that she doesn’t but adds that there are many ways to find out about the truth.

Monica visits Angelika at the hospital and checks on her friend. “Di ka ba nabalian? Wala kang galos?” (Didn’t you break any bones? How about some scratches?)

Angelika snaps at Monica, “Tingan mo nga ang hitsura ko!” (Just take a look at me!)

Monica tries to calm her friend, “Buti na lang may sumaklolo agad sa iyo.” (It’s a good thing that someone was able to help you in time.)

But this seems to anger Angelika all the more as she reveals, “Si Marimar ang tumulong sa akin! Kung sino pa ang taong kinamumuhian ko, siya pa!” (It was Marimar who helped me! Of all the people I hate in this world, it had to be her!)

Vanessa Mae thanks Marimar for helping her find her daughter. Marimar reminds her not to give her thanks yet as they still haven’t found anything, “Di pa natin alam kung saan patutungo ang ating paghahanap.” (We still don’t know where this searching will lead us.)

Monica is quite surpised at Angelika’s outburst when she should be thankful. “Si Marimar? Ang bait-bait naman niya. May utang na loob ka na sa kanya,” (Marimar? How kind of her. Now you owe her.)

Angelika however sees it differently. “Anong utang na loob? Di ko maatim na isang busabos…” (I owe her?! I can’t bear that some poor…)

But Monica cuts her off, “Di na siya busabos. Ikaw na yon!” (But she’s no longer poor. That’s you now!) Angelika kicks Monica for reminding her. The latter whined in pain and kept silent.

In their meeting, Vanessa Mae presses that they need to find their old housemaid with whom she entrusted her child.

The nurse tells Angelika that she need not worry about money as all her hospital bills have already been paid for by Miss Bella Aldama.

After the meeting, Marimar admits to Corazon that she is not sure about her feelings towards Vanessa Mae but she needs to find out about her sister.

Corazon, usually a good judge of character, tells Marimar that Vanessa Mae looks sincere. Marimar hopes that she is as she won’t be able to forgive her if she’s lying. “Sana na, dahil di ko siya mapapatawad kung siya’y nagsisinungaling.”

Esperanza joins them and tells Marimar that she’d like to talk to her about Vanessa Mae. Corazon leaves and Esperanza tells her niece not to believe the sick woman. “Kalokohan yon!” (It’s all nonsense!) Marimar argues with her aunt, asking her what if it is true. Esperanza tells her that this all happened a long time ago. How can they be sure?

Marimar asks her aunt, “Bakit siya magsisinungaling?” (Why would she lie?) Vanessa Mae must be telling the truth. She is rich and so she is not after money. Besides she is a dying woman, suffering from cancer. Her days are numbered and she just wants to find the daughter she gave away, one child that Gustavo sired, the sister that Marimar longs to have…a family she craves.

Marimar Episode 89 - The One where Rodolfo Shoots Bella

Marimar Episode 89 – The One Where Rodolfo Shoots Bella
Aired in the UAE on Thursday, 20th December 2007

Marimar is back in the room and tied again. The thug enters and she asks for Rodolfo. “Umalis na, babalik na lang daw.” The paid kidnapper tells her that Rodolfo has left and will return later. She offers him triple the amount of what Rodolfo agreed to pay just so he will set her free. “Triple?” he asks doubtful. Marimar eagerly nods, “Oo, mayaman ako, alam mo yon.” (Yes, I’m rich you know.)

Renato and Dra. Ria are talking. The good doctor tells her patient that his vital signs are okay. She also adds that his speech and motion development is improving well. Renato seems unhappy despite the good news. “Bakit ang memory ko, palyado?” Dra. Ria assures him that it is but normal to have a bit of memory loss and compares Renato’s mind to that of a computer’s, “Parang hard drive, ang ibang files corrupted.” She advises to give it time. He will regain his memory soon but he must be patient.

Meantime Rodolfo press the police to catch Sergio but the police tell him they cannot put anything against Sergio as he has a solid alibi.

The hired goon thinks for a while and says, “Baka ipahuli mo ako.” He fears Marimar will have him imprisoned but she shakes her head hoping to get through to the man, “Hinde, tatanawin kong isang malaking utang na loob pakawalan mo lang ako dito”. (I would greatly be indebted to you, if you set me free.) Assuring the man she will not give details about him to the police. He thanks her and keep silent.

Dra. Ria tells Renato that he can leave as he is not on the men. He is caught in a dilemma, “Saan ako nakatira?” (Where do I live?)

Sergio arrives at Bella’s home. Immediately Rodolfo asks him accusingly what he is doing there, “Bakit ka nandito?” Sergio suspects Rodolfo has a hand at Bella’s kidnapping and accuses his rival outright telling the police that of all people, Rodolfo has motive to kidnap Bella.

Marimar prods the thug into agreeing with her, pressing on she relates, “May anak ako. Kailangan ako ng anak ko, pakawalan mo na ako.” (I have a daughter and she needs me so please set me free.)

Having thought it through the ruffian declines her offer, “Kahit anong sabihin mo, sabit na ako sa krimeng ito. Kahit hindi mo ako ipakulong, tiyak ipapakuling ako ni Rodolfo.” (Whatever you say, I’m already in too deep in this crime. Even if you do not send me to prison, for sure Rodolfo will.)

Sergio and Rodolfo’s argument heat up leading to some punches being exchanged. Luckily the police stop them in time with Rodolfo screaming at them to have Sergio put in jail and Sergio retaliating, “Ikaw dapat ang ikulong!” (It is you who should be imprisoned!)

The thug continues to tell Marimar that there is honor even among thieves and low-lives. “Business is business. Di na pwede sumira sa usapan.” (Can no longer back out from an agreement.) He leaves Marimar alone who continues to scream and plead for him to set her free.

After the scuffle, Esperanza comes out of the house to talk to Sergio. It is the first time that they meet so she introduces herself as Marimar’s aunt, “Sergio Santibanez? Esperanza Aldama. Tia ni Marimar.” Sergio goes inside the house to talk with Esperanza leaving a still fuming Rodolfo.

Marimar got tired of shouting. She recalls Cruzita and starts to cry. Flashback to her putting a band aid on her daughter, playing in the pool, eating. She exclaims, “Dios ko, kung ano mang mangyari sa akin, huwag nyong pababayaan ang anak ko.” (God, if anything happens to me, please take care of my daughter.)

Sergio calls Antonio who is at the Santibanez Motors office. He tells him about his suspicions that Rodolfo has a hand at Marimar’s disappearance. His doubts grow even more when Rodolfo seems to be framing him up to take the blame for the kidnapping.

Meanwhile a package arrives at Bella’s home and the police open it. There is a CD inside. They insert it into a computer to view it and Marimar greets them on the screen. She tells them, “Ayaw ko pang mamatay. Ibigay ninyo ang hinihingi ng mga kidnappers ko: 200 million.”

Flashback to Rodolfo showing Marimar a picture of Cruzita. At first, Marimar doesn’t give in to his demands and refuses to read the ransom note but Rodolfo forces her and she acquiesces. In the video, Marimar instructs them to deposit the amount to an account number 246753.

Stunned by the gravity and the reality of it all, it was Tia Esperanza who first spoke, telling the police that she will arrange to have the money transferred as she authorizes the transaction on her niece’s behalf. Rodolfo seconds her decision and urges her to do it as soon as possible.

Angelika is a bit miffed about her new found beau having discovered that he is married. “May asawa ka?” She confronts him. Carlitos shrugs as if it’s the most normal and trivial of all things and adds, “Mga asawa!” Indicating to Angelika he’s got more than one.

Dra. Ria tells Renato that she is releasing him. Renato panics and asks where he is to live. The kind doctor tells him not to worry. He is to stay with her friend. “Makulit yon pero mabait.” Assuring Renato that her friend will take care of him.

Angelika reveals to Carlitos the story of her life: that she loves one man but married another. Carlitos asks her if she regrets that she used her brains instead of her heart.

Renato tells Dra Ria she didn’t have to do any of this, going out of her way to arrange somewhere for him to go to, after his stay at the hospital. Ria tells him she is doing this perhaps because she feels sorry for him. Renato looks in her eyes, hopeful about his question, “Yun lang?” (That’s all?)

Rodolfo calls his friend Bruno to check if the money has indeed been transferred and the handsome side-kick confirms that it has indeed. San Jines is confident the transaction will not be traced as it will immediately get transferred into his Swiss account.

Back at the Santibanez Motors office, Innocencia blames Antonio for not accompanying Sergio in looking for evidences to pin Rodolfo as the mastermind behind Marimar’s kidnapping. She worries that Sergio might do something harsh and cause him ill. Antonio only shrugs, helpless.

Bruno asks his ambitious friend what happens now that the ransom money has been paid. Rodolfo tells him that he still has unfinished business to attend to and cuts the line. Unknown to San Jines, Sergio is tailing him.

Rodolfo arrives at the hideout and ask the thug about Bella. The ruffian answers that she is asleep and Rodolfo hands him his pay. Rodolfo gives him instructions, “Tuloy ang plano, ako papatay sa kanya, ikaw magtatapon ng bangkay niya.” (The plan is set, I’ll kill her and you’ll dispose of the body.)

The hired goon nods his agreement but Rodolfo has another condition: if the plan goes wrong, he, meaning the thug, will take the blame and not Rodolfo. The hooligan shakes his head, surprised at this new provision. He protests, “Wala sa usapan yan!” (That is not in the initial contract!) He demands more payment and Rodolfo is quick to oblige, handing him another envelop of cash. The thug accepts the new terms.

Sergio arrives at the same hideout and crouches beside bushes. He calls the police for back-up.

Rodolfo and his hired goon go inside the house to retrieve Bella. Rodolfo enters Marimar’s room and tells her, “May two million na ako…nakapsok na sa account ko ang two million.” (I already have two million, it’s in my account.)

“Yun naman pala eh,” yells Bella, “pakawalan mo na ako!” (In that case, set me free already!)

But Rodolfo cuts her off and snaps at her, “Hindi ako gago. May plano ako sa iyo.” (I’m not stupid. I have plans for you.)

Arturo tells Innocencia and Antonio that Sergio just called him telling him that he has found Rodolfo’s safehouse. He suspects it is where San Jines is hiding Marimar.

Rodolfo tells Bella his plans. He will kill her, Sergio will be blamed for her murder, and he would be able to salvage his business with the ransom money she paid.

Innocencia fears for Sergio’s safety and urges the two men to take action and call the police.

Rodolfo mocks Marimar, “Patay ka na, nakakulong si Sergio at naisalba ko pa ang kumpanya ko. Everybody happy!” exclaims Bella’s ex-fiance. (You’d be dead, Sergio imprisoned and I’d save my business.)

Sergio notes that there is very little men guarding the premises so he makes his move and shoots thug number 1.

Rodolfo is alerted by the gunshot. Sergio meanwhile is able to neutralize thug number 2.

Rodolfo pulls Marimar up and takes her out of the room. Marimar manages to escape Rodolfo and run away, she bumps into Sergio and they hug. Sergio and Marimar make their escape but Rodolfo runs into them.

Rodolfo and Sergio fight. In the scuffle, Sergio grabs his gun and sees that thug number 1 is still alive so he shoots him again. Rodolfo scrambles and grabs his gun too and aims it at Sergio. Marimar quickly untied herself and seeing Rodolfo aim his gun at the man she loves, she runs to cover Sergio. Rodolfo hits Bella on her back, near her shoulders. Sergio holds Marimar shocked at what she’s done.

The hired thug is still alive and he shoots, complying to their contract, aiming for Sergio. He is hit on his shoulders but hold firmly onto Marimar. He slowly kneels to ease her onto the ground. They continue to hold and embrace each other, supporting each other as they fall.

Thug number 1 comes closer, now ready to complete the contract, he aims true. Rodolfo realizes that Marimar truly loves Sergio seeing how she protected him, taking the bullet for his sake. Rodolfo’s heart is broken as he acknowledges, “Talagang mahal mo si Sergio.” (You truly love Sergio.)

Sergio convinces Rodolfo to give it up telling him that the police are on their way. Rodolfo know’s his hired gunman will finish off Bella and Sergio as per their contract. He uses his gun to shoot at the thug instead, in his own way, saving the lovers from certain death.

Marimar and Sergio continue to convince Rodolfo to surrender. He turns to leave but thug number 1 is like a cat with nine lives, he uses the last of his breath and bullets to pump all into Rodolfo’s back. San Jines falls, a heartbroken multi-millionaire.

Marimar and Sergio continue to hold one another, thankful to be alive despite their bullet wounds. From a distance, sirens and police cars can be heard coming.

Marimar Episode 81

Marimar Episode 81 - The one where Sergio's plane crashes
Aired in the UAE on Monday, 10th December 2007

Marimar and Rodrigo are meeting again with the wedding organizer. All seems set including the flowers which are being flown in from Holland. The wedding planner asks Bella whether she'd like to have some fittings for her wedding gown. Bella declines telling the planner that the couturiers already know her measurements, "No, alam na ng couturier yan."

Rodolfo although a bit disappointed supports her as he reasons, "Besides it's bad luck for a bride to be fitting her gown before the wedding, right?" (There is some tradition that you do not fit your wedding gown and you get double bad luck if while you are fitting, the groom happens to see you in it. In the Philippines, this can be doomed that the wedding will not push through.)

Marimar wants to get back to her work and finish it but Rodolfo tells her to wait a while as they have to iron out some details regarding their forthcoming wedding.

Sergio tells his friends, Arturo and Antonio that he has decided to supervise the opening of their branch in Cebu. He originally intended for Antonio to go there and head this project but having thought things over, he has decided to do it himself.

Cruzita and Corazon are together at home and the little girl tells her nanny that she wants to go to the park. Rodrigo arrives and tries to win over Cruzita's affections by giving her a toy doll, "Di ba you like dolls?"

But Cruzita doesn't like him at all, being loyal to her biological father, Sergio. She tells Rodrigo politely, "My mom told me never to accept gifts from strangers."

Marimar sees this exchange as Rodolfo tells the child he is not a stranger but an uncle of sorts. Marimar tries to explain to her daughter her relationship with Rodolfo but the child doesn't give them the chance. She asks Corazon to take her to her room, boycotting whatever it is the adults are planning.

Marimar looks worried but Rodolfo quickly assures her that she has no need to worry. Cruzita will eventually learn to accept him as her step-father.

Sergio admits to his friends that his relationship with Marimar is going nowhere. "Malabo na kami ni Marimar. Mas mahihirapan lang ako kung malapit kami sa isa't isa. Papakalayo na muna ako." He tells them this is the best way for them to both have a bit of space. If he and Marimar could no longer patch things up, it is best that they just stay apart for a while. He's also be able to start anew, in a way and maybe perhaps heal his broken heart.

Arturo asks him is he is truly sure of his decision. Sergio admits he isn't but he adds that this seems to be the only way for them to have a bit of peace.

Cruzita is doodling and drawing and Marimar comes to her asking what it is she is drawing. Cruzita describes a family with a father, mother and a child. She adds, "They're happy kasi kumpleto sila." She turns sad, realising she is not with her father and that her small family is not complete. Marimar reminds her daughter that with her Tito Rodolfo, they have a chance to be complete so she must give him a chance. But Cruzita is as stubborn as her parents. She simply states, "I don't like him."

Marimar asks her, "Don't you want a daddy?" Referring to her daughter's picture. Cruzita is still firm, "May daddy na ako." (I already have a daddy.)

Sergio's flight has been booked according to one of his secretary and she bids his friends goodbye. Arturo wants to go with him but Sergio reminds him that their Manila operations is much bigger and so Antonio would need Arturo here. They ask him when he plans to return and his reply is an indefinite, "Pag OK na ako." (When I'm fine.) Arturo smiles reminding Sergio to contact them as often as he can through text messages so they are kept updated about him.
Marimar talks to Cruzita about Sergio. "Anak, kalimutan mo na ang daddy mo." (Forget about your dad.)

"I love him. Kay daddy ka na lang pakasal." (Why don't you marry daddy instead?)
Marimar hugs her daughter and looks at her carefully but with a sorrow that only her mind speaks, "Kelan man, di magiging parte ng buhay mo ang daddy mo." (You father will never be part of your life.)

(Marimar is daft. Couldn't she see what she is doing is not only hurting her but her daughter as well? Why can't she just admit that she still loves Sergio? Grrr...these telenovelas...)

Just as they are saying goodbye and exchanging last-minute instructions and well wishes at Santibanez Motors, Innocencia arrives. They are surprised to see her after Marimar caught her and Sergio in the park with Cruzita but the young woman reasons she works there and looks at Sergio, confirming with the boss if she still has her job.

Sergio is quick to accept her back into the fold telling her she'd be needed to support Antonio take care of the business.

"Aalis ka?" Innocencia is shocked. She cries and hugs Sergio who is surprised at her reaction. The two men exchange knowing glances with Antonio now certain that Innocencia is truly in love with Sergio. Arturo finds the whole situation a bit awkward but keeps silent.

Arturo arrives at Marimar's home (Bakit nga ba mala-picket fences lang home ni Marimar when she is supposed to be some rich billionairess? Thanks to Arthur for pointing this out too.) He has a letter for Marimar from Sergio. Corazon lets him in the white, wooden gate. Marimar meets him and he hands her Sergio's letter.

She opens the letter and Sergi's voice over commences.

"Mahal kong Marimar. Pagbasa mo ng sulat na ito, nakaalis na ako. Hindi ko ito gusto. Labag ito sa puso ko. Ayaw kong malayo sa anak ko, lalo na sa iyo. Isipin ko pa lang na di ko kayo makikita, parang mamamatay na ako. Mahal na mahal ko kayo. Mahal na mahal kita. Ikaw ang buhay ko. "

Marimar couldn't stop the tears from falling. In an airfield somewhere, Sergio too is crying. She continues to read the letter:

"Pakisabi kay Cruzita na mahal na mahal ko siya. Mag-ingat kayo pareho."

Dra. Ria checks on Renato. He moves and she is encouraged to talk to him. "Naririnig mo ba ako? Kung oo, pisilin mo ang kamay ko." (Can you hear me? If yes, squeeze my hand.) Renato closes his hand a bit showing the doctor that she understood her.

Corazon asks Marimar what Sergio's letter said. She tells the nanny that Sergio is leaving. Corazon couldn't believe it. She looks at Marimar and can see that she had been crying while reading the letter. She asks her, "Anong feelings mo?"

Marimar lies, hiding her sorrow unsuccessfully, "Shempre masaya, hindi na niya kami guguluhin ni Cruzita." (Of course I'm happy. He won't bother me and Cruzita anymore.)

Corazon doesn't buy her false happiness and asks, "Talaga bang wala nang pag-ibig? Kahit gamay lang?" (Don't you have any more feelings for him? Not even a bit?)

"Di naman ako pakakasal kay Rodolfo kung may nararamdaman pa ako kay Sergio." Marimar tells Corazon she wouldn't marry Rodolfo is she still had feelings for Sergio.

Corazon tries to make her realise she is just going to be hurting herself and her daughter in her decision to wed Rodolfo. "Paano si Cruzita? Ayaw niya kay Rodolfo." Cruzita especially doesn't like Rodolfo that much.

Marimar reasons, "Bata pa si Cruzita." He daughter is still young. In time perhaps and Marimar hopes too that her views about Rodolfo would change.

Dra Ria urges Renato to awaken and open his eyes. He does and see the pretty face of the kindly doctor who found him and nursed him devotedly until this day. He asks, "Sino ka? Asan ako?" (Who are you? Where am I?)

"Ako si Dr. Concepcion. Nandito ka sa ospital." Dra. Ria introduces herself and tells Renato that he's in a hospital.

"Baki ako nandito? Anong nangyari sa akin?" (Why and I here? What happened t me?) He doesn't seem to recall what brought him to the hospital.

The doctor tells him that he's been in hospital for about a month now and had been comatose since then. "Thank God nagising ka na rin." Dr. Concepcion is relieved that Renato has finally awakened. However, it seems that Renato is suffering from amnesia.

Sergio is on an airstrip, looking at a small plane. Marimar calls him on the phone but doesn't talk instead she hands the phone to Cruzita.

"Sabi ni mommy aalis ka daw?" (Mommy says you're leaving?) Cruzita doesn't yet realise that her father will be living farther from her and her mother.

Sergio is happy to hear Cruzita as he explains it is about a job that he'll be away for a while. Cruzita wants to come with him but he tells her, "Kawawa naman ang mommy mo, walang kasama." So Cruzita decides to stay to keep Marimar company but asks Sergio "Please daddy balik ka agad. I will really miss you."

Although she doesn't say anything, Marimar is trying hard to hide the tears that continue to flow. She is saddened by being apart from Sergio too. She doesn't really admit it but she feels it deep down.

Backin the hospital Renato is able to recall his first name. He is having trouble remembering his surname but gets a shock as he recalls he is married and has a family. "May asawa ako, may anak - si Sergio."

Sergio takes off on a small plane. The horizon seems foggy and the pilot looks worried. The planeride gets bumpy and Sergio too starts to look alarmed.

Renato continues to talk to Dra. Concepcion. He shares that he wants to see Sergio. Having no one come to the hospital to look for him, the young doctor assures her that she is there for him. "Ako mag-aalaga sa iyo." She promises to take care of him until he is back on his feet.

"Mayday, mayday" The pilot sends a distress signal that their plane is in trouble. He tells Sergio to put on his life jacket. Sergio obeys and braces himself as the ride gets bumpier. (Bakit sinuot nya yung pang-tubig eh di ba dapat parachute kasi nasa bandang gubat sila?)

Despite the pilot's valiant effort, the plane crashes down a thick forest and explodes.

Arturo and Antonio are both worried about Sergio as he has not contacted them yet. Arturo wonders aloud, "Nasa Cebu na kaya si bossing?" Innocencia too cannot help but get worried. It's only a few hours to Cebu from Manila. They should have gotten a call from Sergio now. Just then, the office phone rings and Antonio answers it.

"What?!" Antonio doesn't believe what he is hearing as an airline representative advise them about Sergio's accident. His plane crashed.

Corazon is watching some news on the television and a newsbreak interrupts the normal programming. A reporter informs the public, "Sa isang gubat sa Mindoro, isang chartered plane, flight 112 ay nag-crash lulan si Captain Miguel Alonzo at Mr. Sergio Santibanez, isang tanyag na karerista."

Corazon is shocked at the new and runs to Marimar's room to tell her what she heard. (Panay ata pagsuot ng yellow ni Marimar ah. Anyway, bagay naman sa kulay niya.)

Innocencia, Arturo and Antonio ask the rescuers about Sergio, whether he has been found yet. Rescuers reasoned, "Nahirapan po kami sa crash site. Liblib po ang lugar. Natagpuan na ang katawan ni Capt. Alonzo pero hindi pa natatagpuan si Mr. Santibanez." (They had a hard time at the crash site as it was very secluded. They've found the remains of the pilot but not Sergio.)

Marimar cannot keep still. She is obviously pretty worried and calls Corazon to ask if there is any update on Sergio's rescue.

Corazon tells her that rescue teams have been sent but still haven't found him. They are not sure if Sergio is still alive.

Marimar wants to believe that Sergio is still alive. "Buhay pa si Sergio. Hindi siya pwedeng mamatay." Marimar's voice is filled with panic. She wants to be able to do something. She adds, "Maloloka ako kakaisip kung buhay pa o hindi si Sergio." (I'd go mad thinking whether he is still alive or not.) She asks Corazon to get her phone.

Marimar calls Rowena and instructs her to find out everything about the plane crash, flight 112.

In the forest, there are bits and pieces of the plane and fire everywhere. Sergio lies bloodied and unconscious. Slowly he opens his eyes.

Marimar Episode 80

Marimar Episode 80 - The one where Innocencia and Marimar part ways (Nag-EB kami!!!)
Aired in the UAE on Friday, 7th December 2007

Like I posted in my other blog, Maryannisms, I missed this episode as we (my family) went to Abu Dhabi to watch Eat Bulaga live. I had with me my 4-year old daughter, husband, brother, brother-in-laws, sister-in-law, and my daughter's nanny. But from what I've seen on the Marimar Episode 81, here's a short recap of this particular episode. Apologies that I have missed it. Hope this will suffice.

Marimar fought with Sergio and Innocencia as she told both how upset she is that they have decided to go against her wishes and include Cruzita in the mess she is still trying to iron out with Sergio. Innocencia most of all, whom she trusted most of all.

In consultation with his friends Sergio gets advise from Antonio telling his friend not to force the issue as this is another nail in Sergio and Marimar's relationship-coffin.

Meantime, Angelika still vows to seek vengeance on what Marimar did to her, as she feels sorry for having lost her good looks as well as her eyesight.

Dra. Ria is still devoted to his patient and is not giving up on Renato.

Feeling betrayed, Marimar chooses to part ways with Innocencia and Nanay Leonor. Despite her initial good intentions, Innocencia and her mother decide to return to their old home. Before leaving, Innocencia asks for Marimar's forgiveness and understanding. She adds that she will continue to hope that one day, she and Marimar would be able to patch things up and become friends again.

I will post in my othe blog (Maryannisms) what happened to our Eat Bulaga adventure so visit that site too!

Marimar Episode 79

Marimar Episode 79 – The one where Marimar finds out about Innocencia and Cruzita secretly meeting Sergio

Aired in the UAE on Thursday, 6th December 2007

In the scuffle that follows, Marimar is able to push Angelika who was still wielding the dangerous fork about, intending to physically harm (read that: Kill!) Marimar. She falls to the ground, and the pointed kitchen equipment hit her. She screams as she felt the injury.

Antonio gathered enough courage to ask Innocencia for lunch but the loyal secretary declares that she is waiting for Sergio. Antonio is curious as he asks her, whether Sergio ordered Innocencia to stag and wait for him or not. The young woman didn’t want to admit it at first but then divulged that her mother cooked some pasta which is Sergio’s favorite and so she brought some for him.

Antonio comments how a good secretary she is which is why Arturo is suspecting there is more to it that just being a secretary. Antonio tells Innocencia that Arturo suspects her of falling for Sergio with all she’s been doing for their boss.

This doesn’t sound well on Innocencia’s ears prompting her to give the young man a huge frown as she walks out of the office.

In the hospital, nurses are gossiping how the pretty doctor is showing much concern for her comatose patient. One adds that Dra. Ria once had a boyfriend who died in a coma which explains why she is so concerned for their John Doe.

Antonio however doesn’t let up and confronts Innocencia. He tells the young woman that it is clear that Sergio loves only Marimar and if Innocencia continues with her feelings for Sergio, she will only get hurt in the end. "Masasaktan ka lang."

But Innocencia is also stubborn. She declares, "Wala na sila." They, Sergio and Marimar are through.

Antonio tries to make her see reason, that Sergio would be unable to return the same feelings for her as he only has Marimar in his heart.

Innocencia, hurt, changes the subject. "Kung magla-lunch ka, mag-lunch ka mag-isa mo!" Telling Anotnio to go have lunch alone as she walks out on him again.

Angelika screams "Akin ito!" Referring to the villa. Marimar reminds her it is no longer hers. Rodolfo joins in telling Angelika she no longer has any money.

Angelika confronts Marimar, "Sinong demonyo ang dinadasalan mo?" Asks her who is the powerful demon she is worshipping who is giving her so much power. But Marimar tells her enemy she is with God. "Diyos ang kakampi ko!"

Police come to take Angelika away. She would be taken to the hospital first to get her wound tended and then later to prison.

Rodolfo was fairly upset and showed genuine concern for his fiancee.

Angelika makes a scene at the hospital as she continues to lash out at doctors and nurses in her anger. Police restrain her and force her to settle down. She demands, "Hindi nyo ba ako gagamutin?" (Aren’t you even going to attend to my wound?)

The nurse explains that they are just waiting for the doctor. Angelika tries to be sarcastic, "Saan siya galing, sa Baguio?" Noting that it’s been quite some time that she’s been there and no one seems keen on helping her. She declares she doesn’t want to become blind.

Marimar calls the police and they update her about Angelika. After the call, Rodolfo who is listening sees a glint of a smile in her lips as she says, "Padalos-dalos kasi siya, buti na lang. At least now, pwede ko na siya sampahan ng kaso." Marimar is considering suing Angelika.

This prompts Rodolfo to comment how grave Marimar’s anger on Angelika seems to appear.
Dr. Ria arrives and tells Angelika they need to operate on her eye. Angelika still blames everything on Marimar.

Marimar tells Rodolfo that if she told him everything that Angelika did to her, he may say what she’s done is nothing compared to her enemy’s evildoings in the past. Rodolfo tells her enough revenge. They should focus on their wedding and he looks around the resort appreciatively as he suggests that they can hold it here.

Marimar hesitates. "Kailangan bang engrande? Pwede bang simple na lang?" (Does it have to be grand? Couldn’t it be simple?)

But Rodolfo has made up his mind to an elaborate wedding. "Everyone expects na engrande and kasal natin. Isa akong San Gines, isa kang Aldama..." They are influential and powerful families and everyone expects them to have a grand wedding.

Angelika couldn’t believe what the doctor is telling her. Dr. Ria says that her cornea in ther right eye got hit. "Bulag na ang isang mata mo." She wouldn’t be able to see in her right eye. The cornea had been too damaged.

Police come to take her to prison but she pretends she needed to thank the kind doctor first. One of the policemen can see through her telling her this is just one of her delaying tactics. They underestimated her strength though. Angelika was able to push one of the policemen and run away.

Getting a call from the police, Marimar is upset how they let Angelika slip past them. She orders them to do all they can to capture her.

Fulgoso, hearing the escape can only comment, "Ibang klase talaga si Angelika no?"
Rodolfo, hearing from Bella the latest fears for their lives at the resort. He convinces her to return to Manila where it could safer.

Fulgoso offers his services to his mistress. "Gusto mo ba ng guard doggy? Babantayan kita, bente-kwatro oras."

Rodolfo urges her to return to Manila and after some persuading, Marimar gives in and agrees, "Mas mabuti nga siguro." (Perhaps it would be for the best.)

Sergio reads the newspaper and sees an announcement about Marimar and Rodolfo’s wedding. "May petsa na pala ang kasal nin Marimar at San Gines." (So Marimar and San Gines have set a date for their wedding.)

Arturo asks whether it is mentioned somewhere if the identity of the couturier who will be designing Marimar’s gown have been made known.

Sergio scowls, "Pakakasal siya kay Rodolfo eh hindi naman niya mahal iyon!" (She is going to marry Rodolfo when she doesn’t really love him!)

Innocencia is taking Cruzita out to meet Sergio again, prompting the nanny to comment, "Napapadala ang pagtakas mo kay Cruzita. Magagalit si Bella."

The young woman reminds the nanny that, "Di malalaman ni Marimar kung walang magsusumbong." (Marimar won’t find out if no one would tell.) Giving Corazon a harsh look.
Corazon admits that she is not the type who betrays people’s trust easily but if Bella asks, she will definitely tell her mistress the truth. She looks straight at Innocencia daring the young woman to try and accuse her again. (Go Corazon! I love her for being loyal to Sergio then to Marimar and fighting Innocencia who seems to have forgotten it is Marimar who should be her friend here and not take advantage of her absence by stealing Sergio!)

Arturo explains to his boss that Marimar isn’t that shallow to marry off with someone just to hurt Sergio. (Although Sergio did just that to Angelika not so long ago...thus, this telenovela we all watch!) He tells the racer that it could be possible that Bella likes Rodolfo. "Baka naman talagang love din niya si Rodolfo." Sergio admits that in Marimar’s case, he no longer has any say but in Cruzita’s perhaps he has got some hope.

(I can see Arturo telling Sergio to move on for the sake of his friend not getting hurt anymore. But Innocencia is telling Sergio to move on and consider other women, with the intent that Sergio falls for her. See now who is the better friend? Juding man, mabait din but remember when Arturo himself was harboring feelings for Sergio? He had been guilty of keeping Sergio and Marimar apart a few years – oh well episodes really – back!)

Corazon and Innocencia continue to argue and the young woman is defending her side telling the plump nanny that she is sure Cruzita will not tell Marimar about their meetings with Sergio. Corazon is angry that she can allow a child to lie when she should teach Cruzita about being honest. Innocencia, in the midst of their argument almost slips saying "Mahal ko si Ser.....Cruzita!" Making Corazon raise one of her eyebrows to the ceiling.

Innocencia defends that it is her love and concern for Cruzita that pushed her to give father and daughter some time together. Calmly Corazon adds, "Sana lang, huwag nating gamitin ang bata for our pesonal gains." Hinting that she knows Innocencia may have some feelings for Sergio and is using the child to be closer to him.

Diego and Monica live in a simple home but they look happy and truly do care for one another. He declares that finally they are both free from Angelika’s tyrannical ways. Monica bites her finger as she forgot to tell her husband that Angelika, the tyrant is coming over to live with them for a while.

(Monica is really a good friend. She did enjoy benefits when Angelika ruled over Villa Santibanez and she is just returning the favor to her friend. Diego should understand this instead of acting weird like he didn’t do anything bad in the past. He had some hand at Marimar’s grief and lately at Renato’s although he did feel pity on his ex-boss and saved him by leaving him near the hospital.)

Sergio arrives at Marimar’s home to pick up Cruzita and Innocencia. Corazon is hesitant but gives in when she sees how excited and happy Cruzita looks. Innocencia looks like a girl let loose in a candy store too. Both Corazon and Nanay Leonor look worried with Corazon calling out to Sergio, "Sir uwi kayong maaga sir." (Please try to come home early, sir.)

Because of the incident with Angelika escaping the police, Marimar unexpectedly decided to come home earlier than planned. Nanay Leonor meets her at the gate, greeting one another warmly. Fifi is also happy to see Fulgoso back. Marimar asks where Cruzita is. Corazon changes the subject, buying for some time and asks her why she returned a bit early. Marimar explains she wants to surprise her daughter and again looks for her. "Asan ang anak ko?" Corazon and Leonor look at one another, unable to speak.

Innocencia, Cruzita and Sergio have a picnic at the park. Innocencia suggests they watch a movie afterwards as there is a good movie for kids showing in the theaters. Cruzita doesn't like movies and Sergio realised he has never taken Marimar to a movie theater when they were together. Sergio admits that he does like watching movies. Innocencia is glad to have something in common with Sergio which he doesn't share with Marimar. She tells Sergio that she likes romantic comedies best.

Getting no response from the two women, Marimar asks them again where Cruzita is. Corazon is forced to tell her that Cruzita left with Innocencia.

Sergio shares that he likes adventure flicks. Cruzita butts in saying, "Ako rin!" Imitating his father. Sergio teases his daughter, "Bolera ka talaga!" (You are such a kidder) and Sergio asks who he got the trait from, him or her mom. Innocencia smiles happy to be sharing this time with the man she loves.

Diego is upset that Angelika is living with them. Monica restrains him from speaking loudly as he may wake Angelika up.

Angelika however is oblivious to the couple's arguments as she removes the bandage covering her blinded eye. She cries as she stares at her face in the mirror. "Hindi pwede itong hitsura ko. Hindi ako pwedeng pangit!" (This could not be. My face, I mustn't be ugly!)

The trio at the park take pictures with Innocencia taking the role of photographer. Marimar arrives witnessing the happy event. No one sees her at first but Cruzita glances her way and shouts, "Mommy!" Innocencia and Sergio freeze, not knowing what to do. Both look her way and say her name, "Marimar."

Marimar grabs Cruzita telling her daughter it's time for them to go home. "Halika na uwi na tayo."

Innocencia tries to run after her, "Marimar, alam kong galit ka..." She tells her friend that she can understand how upset she must be.

Marimar explodes, "Buti alam mo! Pinagkatiwalaan kita, trinaydor mo ako!" (Good that you know I'm upset. I trusted you and yet you betrayed me!)

Innocencia tries to defend her actions, "Hindi kita trinaydor, ginawa ko lang ang tama." (I didn't betray you, I only did what I think was right.)

Marimar walks back to the woman she thought was her friend and slaps her hard. Sergio tries to defend Innocencia, by reacting to Marimar's rash action but decides to remain silent, for now.
Marimar stares hard at them both as she turns and walks out.

Marimar Episode 78

Marimar Episode 78 – The one with Marimar’s party at Villa Aldama
Aired in the UAE on Wednesday, 5th December 2007

Angelika and Nicandro has just finished doing ‘the deed’ and the man asks the woman, “Nag-enjoy ka ba?” if she enjoyed herself. Nicandro offers his home to Angelika telling her she can stay for as long as she likes as she does have some pretty interesting uses after all. “May silbi ka naman eh.”

Angelika doesn’t seem to mind that she’s sunk so low, having sexual relations with her lapdog and henchman. She blames Marimar for all her misery and vows vengeance. “Pagbabayaran mo ng buhay mo!” (Is she daft? She caused Marimar to seek vengeance on her in the first place for all the evil things she’s done and now she wants to seek her own? Never-ending na lang ba na cycle ito? Oh well, telenovelas do come across as such. What else is new? There really seems to be no remorse on her part but she did act well the part where she apologised to her old childhood friend.)

Marimar walks barefoot at the resort’s beach. Several guards are on hand to provide protection and one even holds her umbrella for her protecting her from the soft drizzle. Fulgoso reminds her (although she doesn’t really hear it) of the times when they used to run along the beach chasing each other. “Gusto mo naka-paa. Jologs ka pa noon.”

Marimar recalls the time she spent with Sergio in the deserted island when he took her off there to make amends. She cries as bitter-sweet memories come rushing back. Memories she has long hidden and locked in her heart.

Fulgoso notices her and comments, “Ay-ya-yay, umiiyak ka na naman ba Marimar?” Knowing how easily Marimar can succumb to tears.

Marimar talks to her loyal and beloved friend, “ang sarap ng hangin Fulgoso. Ang sarap ng buhangin sa mga paa ko.” She shares that she recall her grandparents, Lolo Pancho and Lola Cruz. How happy they were back then. “At si Sergio...” She sighs as memories of her wedding day comes to taunt her along with his admission that it was all a fake. She cries with the rain.

Bakit? Bakit ang lungkot-lungkot ko? Bakit ang sakit-sakit? Bakit ang lalim ng puwang dito sa dibdib ko?” She asks the world why she is so sad. Why is she still hurting. And why is there such a huge emptiness within her heart.

“Ako si Marimar. Mabuti akong tao.” She declares she is a good person but pauses to consider her statement. “Mabuting tao....” She questions her actions of late. “Mabuting tao pa ba ako?” Seeking her vengeance to the ruin of Angelika and Sergio has made her into something else. Her anger surfaces as she blames them for what she has become.

She justifies her anger by remembering how Sergio fooled and used her, just to make Angelika jealous.

Marimar recalls the scene with Angelika at the hill where she got shot. “Kaya tama lang na palayasin sila dito tulad ng pagpapalayas nila sa akin noong mangmang pa ako.” She uses this to rationalise that what she did, her revenge, had been just right.

But her fear of God stops her and gives her much guilt. She sends a prayer, “Diyos ko, patawarin nyo po ako. Lahat ng paghihirap dinanas ko. Tama ako. Dahil lahat ng utang dapat pinagbabayaran. Naniningil lang ako sa lahat ng ginawa nila sa akin.” She asks for forgiveness and reasons that every debt must be paid. She was but settling scores; calling in debts from her past. (So, Marimar dear, you've gotten revenge but are you happy? Vengenace may be sweet but what comes after is the bitter taste of regret.)

Nicandro asks Angelika to eat. “Pasensiya na, ito lang kaya ng pera ko.” He apologises for the humble spread saying this is all his money could afford.

Angelika asks for some cutleries but Nicandro wakes her up with a few reality bites. “Huwag ka nang ma-arte! Wala ka na bang pera? Anong plano mo? Di ka naman pwedeng umasa na lang sa akin.” He asks her what her plans are and reminds her that she cannot just rely on him to survive, she too must find a way to bring in some income.

Angelika agrees and assures him she will think of something. “Maganda ako. Madaming mauuto lalaki.” She is pretty and has a sexy body. It would be easy for her to find men she could fool whilst taking their money away.

Innocencia is still with Sergio and now Cruzita has gone asleep in his arms. She offers to take the child so he can have a bit of a break but he tells her that he doesn’t mind. Innocencia shares that she grew up in a similar park herself with both parents vending balloons and ‘balot’ (duck eggs) in the park. She shares that she is just a simple person with simple dreams: to be with the man she loves. She offers that she would be a good wife and mother to her family. (Hinting to the max itong bruhang ito! Hoy, wake up and smell the sampaguitas, hija, si Marimar lang ang mahal ni Sergio! Asa ka pa! The nerd! hehehehe ay, the nerve pala! hahahahaha!)

Innocencia’s mom and Corazon are fretting, worried that it is getting late and yet Innocencia and Cruzita aren’t back yet.

Sergio shares a bit of himself to Innocencia as well. “Ako, all I want is a family.” He is sad to admit that he doesn’t get along well with his own father and he wants this to be different in his own family. He regrets that he and Marimar are not in good terms and most of it really is his own doing. “Sayang..”

Wanting to cheer him, Innocencia quickly adds “Hindi pa huli ang lahat. Pwede pa mangyari yon.” Indeed it’s not too late, and Sergio is young. He can still achieve his dreams. (But of course Innocencia has in mind that it would be her and Sergio sharing the happy family dream. Hay kakainis! What a traitor!)

Sergio of course thinks about Marimar, “Sa tingin mo magkakabalikan pa kami ni Marimar?”

Corazon is now frantic and tension heightens when they get a call from Marimar, asking her to put Cruzita on the line.

Nicandro advises Angelika to go to Manila, “Malakas kita ng call girls doon.” Call girls or to be blunt, whores earn big in the city. But Angelika has revenge in her mind and asks Nicandro to help her get back into the villa.

At first, the thug hesitate telling her that they would never succeed. There are too many guards securing the area. Angelika reminds him that he ought to know every nook and cranny of the place and Nicandro recalls an old gate he uses to slip in and out of the premises. “Nasa liblib na parte ng resort.” It is located in a secluded and oft-overlooked area of the resort.

Angelika bids him, “Samahan mo ako. Ginulat ako ni Marimar. Ako naman ang bubulaga sa kanya.” (Marimar caught me off-guard. Now it's my turn to give her a surprise.)

Corazon looks at Nanay Leonor for some inspiration as she lies to Marimar. “Tulog na.” Telling the mother that her daughter is now asleep. Marimar wonders, “Ala sais pa lang,” it’s only but six in the evening.

Corazon explains that Cruzita had slept since the afternoon nap and hasn’t awoken since then. But Marimar insists that she wake the child up as she wants to talk to her daughter.

The nanny was running up of excuses and is about to blurt out the truth when Cruzita arrives with Innocencia. It was just the perfect time! Corazon hands Cruzita the phone telling her it’s her mother.

Back at the villa, Bella calls on Perfecta and orders her to feed Fulgoso. Perfecta reasons there is no longer any dog food available. Bella snaps at her to go and buy some for her pet. “Di ka ba nag-iisip?”

Perfecta mutters to herself and one staff hears her. The girl asks why is she muttering and Perfecta ridicules Marimar, “Dating mangmang na naka-paa.” telling the girl who the new owner used to be.

The new staff admits, “Di ko ma-imagine.” She cannot think of Bella as some naive bare-footed simpleton.

Perfecta tries to convince her. “Basura lang yan dito.” Expressing that Marimar was but trash in the resort before. (Perfecta dear, for all the things you've connived with Angelika to make Marimar's life hell at the villa, you could be the next one to be fired off Villa Aldama. Careful!)

Innocencia and Sergio continue their talk. The woman asks the man how is he going to win back Marimar. The man admits it would be difficult as right now Marimar is filled with hatred for him. Innocencia advises the man she loves to love someone else. “Ibaling mo na lang sa iba ang pag-ibig mo.” (Yeah right, more like, ibaling mo na lang sa akin...biatch! Ochoserang frog ito!)

The party is at full swing at Villa Aldama. Rodolfo’s guests and friends arrive. Bruno asks his friend where Bella is.

In the kitchen, Perfecta and the staff are busy preparing the food for the party. Nicandro arrives with Angelika who looks plain without her signature clothes, designer make-up and expensive baubles. Nicandro wishes her luck and leaves, not wanting to be a part of Angelika’s one-track-mind search for retribution.

Sergio tells Innocencia that when Marimar returns, he may no longer be able to see Cruzita. Innocencia assures him that she will do all she can to find a way around it and help him. Sergio tells her that if Marimar finds out about this, she would surely get very angry with Innocencia.

But Innocencia has made up her mind. She will do everything for the man she loves as she talks in her head, “Handa akong harapin ang galit ni Marimar huwag ka lang mawala sa buhay ko. Hanggang ngayon minamahal pa rin kita Sergio.”

Angelika grabs one of the hotel staff and wrings her neck (ala Alias, ibang level na ito!) Perfecta throws her a two-pronged serving fork and she changes into the uniform of the unconscious lass. (Did she kill her or just put her to sleep?)

Arturo tells Sergio his fear. When Marimar comes back, he wouldn’t be able to see Cruzita. Sergio is firm in his resolve to seek legal means if only to spend some time with Cruzita. Arturo isn’t keen on his boss’ plan as this will only anger Marimar more.

Sergio sighs, stating that he wants his family to be complete. “Gusto kong mabuo ang pamilya ko.”

Arturo shares his gut feelings with Sergio. ”Feeling ko lang, di na kayo magkakabalikan pa ni Marimar.”

Sergio tells his gay friend that he shares the same views as Innocencia sharing what the young woman just told him, “Nagbago na daw si Marimar.” Marimar has changed a lot.

Arturo shows surprise at Innocencia’s comment about her friend knowing it hints at the woman’s own yearning for Sergio but he advises his friend to follow Innocencia’s advise anyway.

Sergio remains firm as he declines the good intentions of his friends. He declares he loves none other but Marimar.

Marimar is in a colorful, flowery, gauzy gown (parang Georgette) that is quite long. She looks radiant and Rodolfo greets her justly, “Hello my beautiful girlfriend.” (Urgh, so proprietory! Stop or I'd vomit all over my notes already!)

Rodolfo calls everyone’s attention. “Ladies and Gentlemen....” He makes a speech about how happy this occasion is being the launch of Villa Aldama.

Angelika is inconspicuous as one of the resort staff in mint green. She looks rather plain with light make-up and couldn’t be singled out in a crowd.

It is now Bella’s turn to say something and she shares with the guests some anecdote, “Ang imposible, pwedeng gawing posible. Pag ginusto mo, makukuha mo.” Guests clap but stop when from nowhere Angelika shouts, “Ako ang may-ari ng resort na ito. Magkakamatayan muna tayo bago ito maging sa iyo.”

She lunges with the pointed fork as guards run to protect Bella and stop the intruder. Marimar struggles with Angelika as she fights against the woman who has every reason to kill her at this juncture. (We all make a collective gasp as we hope our heroine would be okay. Of course she will be, this is primetime TV!)

Marimar Episode 77

Marimar Episode 77 – The one with the other mud scene
Aired in the UAE on 4th December 2007

Marimar tells Angelika to take the key but she has to use her mouth to fish it out of the muddy puddle just as she once asked Marimar to do with a diamond-studded bracelet. Angelika pauses, considering her options as Marimar raises her voice in question, “Gagawin mo ba o hindi? Ano?” prompting Angelika whether she would do it or not.

Sergio is in his office, still feeling quite low at his recent situation being far away from Marimar and Cruzita. He is looking at the pictures taken by Corazon on that happy afternoon when they first spent some quality time together as a family, especially the shot where he and Marimar kissed with Cruzita beaming happily.

Arturo walks in, complete with black eyeliner and a new haircut. He notices how somber his boss’ face looks so he tries to cheer the young racer up. “Bossing magki-Christmas na, pang-semana santa pa yang mukha mo. Be happy!”

Sergio shares that he is just remembering Cruzita, “Mabilis lumaki, ang daldal!” How quickly she is growing up and how talkative she is. This brings a wistful smile on Sergio’s face. His gay driver who once carried the torch for him comments that it’s a good thing Sergio was able to convince Innocencia to connive with him into letting him see his daughter while Marimar is away. Sergio nods his agreement but he admits to his long-time friend, “Hindi lang naman si Cruzita ang gusto ko makasama, siyempre pati si Marimar.” It’s not only Cruzita he wants to be with but of course also Marimar.

Angelika stoops low to bite off the key to the villa from the mud. She cries as she does this while Marimar smiles in triumph. Perfect and Mike look on in disbelief. Angelika defeated, keeps on sobbing while Marimar let out a laugh.

Sergio and Arturo continue their conversation with the former admitting he wants his small family to be complete, “Gusto ko buo ang pamilya ko. Gusto ko, sabay kami matulog, sabay naming palakihin ang anak namin…” Sergio shares his deepest desires to his childhood playmate. Arturo feels sorry for his friend but tells him to face the reality that these may not be possible now and as time goes by, Sergio’s relationship with Marimar seems to worsen. Sergio sighs as he blames none other than Angelika for this recent misunderstanding with the one woman he truly loves.

Monica rushes to the Villa Santibanez gates asking what the commotion is all about and Perfecta fills her in. Upon hearing what Marimar made Angelika do, Monica shares that the former Senora Santibanez did the same thing to Marimar back then. Diego who arrived with Monica adds, “Buti nga sa kanya.” The former bodyguard obviously didn’t like Angelika as he makes known that it only serves her right for the things she’s done in the past.

Sergio regrets the decisions he has made in his past. He tells Arturo that if he didn’t leave then, to race in Macau, perhaps he and Marimar would still be together now. Arturo reminds him that nothing is certain especially with someone like Angelika plotting and scheming at every opportunity to break them apart. She would have made sure Sergio and Marimar got separated at whatever the cost.

Arturo opines, “Kung meron ngang demonyong dito sa lupa nabubuhay, si Angelika yon. At kung meron mang taong inapi ni Angelika ng lubos, si Marimar yon.” (If ever there was the chance that some demon lived on earth, that would be none other than Angelika and if there was someone who suffered under her, it is none other than Marimar.)

Sergio can only agree with Arturo’s observations and adds that Angelika will only get what’s due her for everything she has done. “Kaya kakarmahin din siya.”

Marimar holds her head high as she wins over her greatest enemy. “Desperada ka na talaga Angelika. Hindi ko inakalang magagawa mo ito.” She admits to Angelika that she didn’t think the former haughty queen of Villa Santibanez would stoop so low.

(I regret what I have done and promise to be a good friend to you from now on, like when we were kids. Do you remember how happy we were then? Give me one more chance.)

The nurse excitedly called and told the lady doctor that Renato’s hands moved. The kind woman checked Renato for any signs of life but he continues to be comatose. She turns to tell the nurse that perhaps it was just her imagination, thinking she saw the mysterious patient move. It could also be just the man’s bodily reflexes and nothing more. The doctor shares to the nurse what their superior had told her. The hospital is only giving the unknown patient a week to show any signs of recovery. Both women look on the patient, pitying him for having no one else, not even a single family by his side.

Angelika asks for Marimar forgiveness and proposes that they start again. She grovels at her former nemesis’ yellow shoes.

Arturo and Sergio continue to talk with the former noting, “Madaling manloko itong si Angelika. Sa una magbabait-baitan sa huli may motibo.” She quickly fools others pretending to be quite goody-goody at first but with a motive in the end.

Marimar shrugs off Angelika’s pleas. “Anong akala mo sa akin? Tanga? Di na ako tulad ng dati na kaya mong lokohin.” (What do you think I am? Stupid? I am no longer like before whom you could easily fool.)

Angelika reminds her of her earlier promise of letting the former owner of the resort stay. “Sabi mo pag pinulot ko di mo ako papa-alisin.”

Marimar mocks Angelika’s naiveté just like the latter had once done to her, in so many instances. “At naniwala ka naman!”

Angelika’s rage is evident as she tries to fight Marimar for the cruelty her once childhood pal is showing her, “Sinungaling ka! Humanda ka, papatayin kita!” (You’re such a liar! I will kill you, you watch out!)

Sergio agrees with Arturo about his observation regarding Angelika. “Di na dapat pagkatiwalaan ang salita ni Angelika.” She shouldn’t be trusted with anything, not her words or her deeds.

Marimar has finished with her tormentor and orders her men to take her away. “Alisin nyo na yan, basura lang yan dito.” Just like trash to be thrown out. Just like what Angelika did to her in the past.

Monica cries as she feels sorry for her friend but Marimar turns to all the witnesses and states, “Ang lahat na nasa labas ng gate, di na pwede pumasok.” The crowd quickly inches inward, including Monica who has no choice but to obey the new resort owner.

Innocencia receives a bouquet of beautiful flowers from Sergio, thanking her for helping him spend some time with Cruzita. She is obviously still in love with her former and current boss and cherishes the sweet gesture. Arturo arrives and sees how thrilled Innocencia is to receive Sergio’s token of thanks. He asks her, “Curious lang ako, bakit mo tinutulungan si Sergio? Di ba close kayo ni Marimar?” (Why are you helping Sergio when Marimar is supposed to be your closest friend?)

Innocencia defends herself explaining it is for Cruzita’s sake. Arturo prods further, suspecting another deeper reason, “May iba pa bang dahilan?” But Innocencia denies anything else beside what she stated. Arturo is certain the young woman has a crush on Sergio but is keeping it secret.

Angelika is walking on the street (sexy pa rin ang lola mo!) as she curses Marimar for evicting her out of her home and life of luxury. “Hayop na Marimar yan! Ang bigat-bigat ng dala ko. Nagkakakalyo na ako!”

Just then she sees a wooden cart. She puts her huge luggage in it and pushes it. A woman runs to her screaming “Akin yan!” that the cart belongs to her but Angelika pushes her off causing her to fall on the ground. “Ano ba? Akin na ito at pwede ba, maligo ka, baho?” She not only managed to insult the poor woman, she also took off with her cart. (Oh Angelika, you are truly bad to the bone!)

Innocencia agrees to meet with Sergio in the park again with Cruzita. Sergio tells Antonio to take charge while he goes off to rendezvous with his daughter and secretary. Antonio comments it is good Marimar hasn’t suspected anything yet and Sergio admits this is all because she is out of town. Indeed it would be much difficult if she were around.

Innocencia looks quite pleased as she orders Corazon to prepare Cruzita’s things as she is accompanying the child for an outing. This time, she will be going by herself and Corazon will be left at home. When the nanny tries to complain, explaining she is the nanny and should accompany her ward anywhere Cruzita goes; Innocencia reminds her that this is better this way. Should Marimar find out, Corazon won’t be blamed for having a hand at conniving with Sergio. Especially when she had already made it known to Innocencia, during the first time they met secretly with Sergio, that she will be forced to tell the truth to Marimar.

Sundin mo na lang ang utos ko.” Innocencia advised the concerned nanny to just follow her orders.

Arturo and Antonio are discussing the recent turn of events particularly Innocencia’s willingness to help Sergio spend time with his daughter. Sergio just listens to his friends as Arturo comments, “Kahit anong papagawa kay Innocencia, susundin. Kesahodang mag-away sila ni Marimar. Ganyan naman talaga ang babaeng in love.” (Whatever Sergio asks of Innocencia, she will do it. Nevermind her having to face the possibility of severing her friendship with Marimar. Most women in love are the same.)

Anotnio seems shocked at this revelation, granting he harbors feelings for Innocencia himself. “In love si Innocencia kay Sergio?” Even Sergio is astonished hearing this.

In Bella’s home, Innocencia’s mother, is talking to her daughter telling her what she is doing is wrong. She fears Bella will find out about Innocencia helping Sergio and disobeying Marimar’s strict orders about keeping Cruzita away from her father.

Sergio contests Arturo’s observations telling his friends that Innocencia and him are just friends and that they shouldn’t put any color into their relationship. But Arturo insists and even teases Antonio a little saying, “Hindi ka niya type, si Sergio ang type ni Innocencia.”

At this, Antonio defends himself declaring, “Hoy number 7 ako sa Manila’s Most Desirable!”

But Arturo is quick to point out, “At number 1 si Sergio!”

Sergio stops their bickering as he reminds both that he is no longer a bachelor. He hadn't been for quite some time now considering himself married to Marimar in all this time.

In another argument, mother and daughter continue to defend their views. Nanay Leonor reminds her daughter that she has not rights to make any decision as she is not Cruzita’s mother. Marimar is and she has the right to forbid her daughter from seeing his wayward father.

Meantime at the Villa Santibanez, new things are being done. Several of Bella’s men have taken down the sign and are now asking her for directions on what to do with it. Bella coldly declares, “Itapon nyo o sunugin!” Throw it away or burn it, she orders.

Monica is present and approaches Marimar to apologise for being mean to her in the past.

Marimar looks at her and asks, “Di ba kasabwat ka sa lahat ng ginawa ni Angelika?”

Diego defends her wife saying, “Maam, napilitan lang ho si Monica.” Monica was coerced by Angelika into doing her orders.

Monica apologises but Marimar is keen on revenge. She states, “Huli na. Mag-empake ka na.”

Angelika finds a house that is for lease and talks to the owner about it. The owner explains that the monthly rent is five thousand pesos and she would require a month’s deposit and another for advance. Angelika asks if the house’s bathroom has a bathtub.

The owner discovers Angelika doesn’t even have any money and mocks her, “Wala ka palang pera pa-bathtub-bathtub ka pa!”

Angelika tries to call her friend, Monica on her cell phone but she doesn’t answer.

Back at the resort, Marimar tells all. “Maraming pagbabago ang mangyayari. Kung ayaw nyo, malaya kayong umalis. Simula sa araw na ito, tatawagin ninyo ako bilang si Bella at ang sinumang tumawag sa akin ng Marimar ay masisisante agad. Hindi na rin ito Villa Santibanez. Mula sa araw na ito, ang resort ay kikilalaning Villa Aldama.”

Angelika moves on to look for other possible homes but runs into Nicandro.

Sergio, Cruzita and Innocencia meet at the park (the same one as before). Sergio asks why Corazon is not with them and Innocencia offers she can take care of Cruzita herself and she doesn’t want Corazon to also take blame for what they’re doing.

Marimar orders Perfecta to prepare the Executive Suites as she has guests coming to the resort. Perfect asks where Bella is staying, whether it be in her old home (shared with Sergio) or at the mansion. Bella confirms she will stay in the mansion and thus Perfecta must clean it well. She dismisses Perfecta and sits down to eat.

Rodolfo arrives at the Villa Aldama with his friend Bruno. She didn’t expect him to arrive so soon and this clearly shows in her face. Rodolfo coaxes her to smile for him. She asks what he is doing there and he smiles as he says, “I’m here to help you.”

Sergio thanks Innocencia for doing him this favor and apologises that she had to be party to this matter. Innocencia replies sweetly, “OK lang, di lang naman siya ang kaibigan ko, pati ikaw din di ba?” Telling Sergio that she is friends with not only Marimar but also Sergio. (Hey girl, wala ka talagang loyalty! Now kaka-inis ka na ha. Despite me feeling sorry for cutie Sergio, dapat firm ang loyalties mo kay Marimar. Afterall she helped you and your mom a lot. Also you spent a longer time with her and know her well. Kahit pa love mo si Sergio, dapat good and faithful friend ka. Says much about her lack of moral fibre. I can see her being one of the “balakids” for Marimar and Sergio not getting back together.)

Nicandro and Angelika exchange stories about latest events at the villa. Nicandro admits he left as soon as he saw that Marimar was the new owner. “Baka pakulong ako nun.” He confesses that he feared Marimar will send him to prison after all he has done to her. Angelika blames him for all their misfortunes telling him had he not fumbled on killing Marimar in the past, they wouldn’t be in this mess now.

Rodolfo and Bella are celebrating. He proposes a toast, “To your new business acquisition and to our prosperous marriage. Cheers baby!” (Urgh, I hate Rodolfo calling Marimar baby. It’s so patronising and couldn’t Marimar herself not see him for the slimeball that he is? Better the enemy you know than the one you don’t, Bella. I’d take Sergio any day over Rodolfo. But I guess there’s lies the allure that keeps the episodes coming and the viewers watching.)

Rodolfo comments that the area is quite good but points out that there are a lot more nice places that she could have bought.

Marimar admits that she bought the place because this is where she and Sergio first met. This is also the place where Sergio brought her after they got married.

So you bought this for sentimental reasons,” Rodolfo now realizes the significance of the resort to Bella.

No,” she coldly tells him, “I bought this for revenge.”

Nicandro invites Angelika to love with him in his shack. He tells her not to be angry. She will have a place to stay in the least. He suggests a more intimate sharing between them and Angelika moves to slap him for his insolence but he stops her and flatly tells her the painful reality, “Wala ka nang pera. Wala ka nang kapangyarihan. Lamang pa ako sa iyo dahil ako may bahay, ikaw wala.”

Nicandro tells her to consider living with him. Angelika points out she has no money to pay him rent. He suggests alternative ways of payment and he touches her arm suggestively. The former Senora Santibanez frowns but keeps her silence as she considers her options.
