Marimar Episode 90

Marimar Episode 90 – The one where Sergio and Marimar both survived

Police and media both swarm the place of the crime. Monica and Angelika both watch the news and heard that Sergio rescued Marimar prompting Angelika to comment why Sergio had to go be a hero and rescue the woman she loathes the most.

Meanwhile Renato is ready to leave the hospital and Dr. Ria introduces him to Julio. Ria asks Julio to take care of Renato for her and asks him to lend Renato some clothes as well. Julio looked at Renato, he smiles in a friendly way and adds that Ria doesn’t have to worry, his elder brother, Kuya Fernando’s clothes would fit Renato. Renato asks Ria if Fernando was the boyfriend she lost. Ria wonders how he knew about it.

The police take Rodolfo away but first he would be taken to the hospital so his wounds can be treated. As he lies in a stretcher ready to be taken to the hospital, he calls out Bella’s name. Marimar comes closer but Sergio tells the police to go take him away. Rodolfo insists that he wants to talk to Bella first.

Renato admits to the kindly doctor that the nurse gossip about her. Ria doesn’t like it but Renato tells her that they don’t have any ill intentions. Renato thanks Ria for everything she has done for him, for everything she is still doing to help him. He looks into her eyes with something more than gratitude that unnerves the lady doctor prompting her to say, that all she wanted is for Renato to get his life back and live a normal life. Renato looks thoughtful as he admits, “Ayaw ko nang bumalik sa dati kong buhay. Masaya ako sa piling mo.” (I don’t want to return to my old life anymore. I am happy with you.)

Marimar goes a step close to Rodolfo where he can see her, Sergio quickly right behind her. Rodolfo asks for forgiveness for all he has done. Marimar is sad, she thought she and Rodolfo were friends. She honestly tells the mastermind of her kidnapping, “Hindi ko alam kung mapapatawad pa kita. Hindi mo nga ako pinatay pero ikaw ang may kagagawan ng lahat ng ito.” (I don’t know if I could ever forgive you. You may have not killed me but you were the one responsible for all these.) She turns away as Rodolfo is carried into the ambulance.

Sergio signals the police and ambulance staff, “Sige na kunin nyo na yan.” (Go ahead and take him.) The ambulance door closes and they leave.

Marimar and Sergio hug, thankful to both be alive despite gunshot wounds. (Kilig! They are so good together!) Both hold each other’s hands. Marimar is relieved that this traumatic episode in her life is over. Sergio however is worried that his family is always in danger and he is unable to protect them. (Sergio looks a bit pangit in this scene…medyo monkey-looking but he is so buff, sooo macho! Aw!)

Julio tells Renato it’s best for them to go. On their way out of the hospital, Renato asks the young man how long has it been since his elder brother passed away. Julio replies it’s been seven years.

Dra. Ria is musing on the comment Renato made before leaving. Is her patient falling for her? If he is, is she letting him? There is a hint of a smile but just then Dr. Hayden arrives and tells her they should go.

Sergio is now allowed into Bella’s home after being the hero who saved her from her kidnappers. Corazon is glad of this new development in their lives and hands Sergio a warm cup of coffee telling her old ward, “Two sugars no milk.” Sergio smiles at Corazon glad she still remembers how he liked his coffee. Corazon assures him she never forget and the yaya and ward share a moment.

Cruzita enters Marimar’s room and goes to her mother who smiles and greets her good morning. Cruzita explains, “Daddy told me not to disturb you kase you are resting.” Marimar smiles at her daughter and assures her she is fine, “Ayos a ako lalo na nandito ka na sa tabi ko.”

Fulgoso who is right behind Cruzita comments, “Pinakaba mo kami, tingnan mo nangayayat ako sa pag-aalala.” (You had us all scared! Look at me, losing weight from too much worrying over you!)

In another part of Manila, Angelika is angry that Marimar is okay. “Buwisit na Marimar yan, di maubos-ubusan ng swerte!” (Damn that Marimar, she never seems to run out of luck!)

Sergio asks Corazon, “OK lang bang nandito ako?” (Is it alright for me to stay here?)

Corazon exclaims, “Of course!” She goes over Sergio to check on his wound. She asks him if he is alright. Sergio replies that it still stings but he is alright. “Malayo sa puso,” he jokes about his wound. (It’s far from the heart.)

Angelika unleashes her anger at Marimar’s survival on Carlitos who until now has not done what she has requested of him. She hits him and walks out in a huff.

Corazon sits beside Sergio, ready to make a confession; “Mahal na mahal pa rin ka ni Maam.” (She still loves you very much.)

Sergio lights up, “Talaga?” (Really?)

Marimar thanks her daughter for praying for her. Mother and daughter embrace and comfort each other, glad that they are together.

But don’t lose hope, kay habang may buhay, may hope. Marimar will change her mind.” (I’m not sure if she still wants to get back with you. She was hurt when you left her. Add to that the fact that your marriage isn’t even real. But don’t lose hope…)

Sergio sighs, agreeing with Corazon’s wish for Marimar to change her mind. “Sana” Corazon tries to comfort Sergio and taps him on the shoulders, hurting him instead, “Aray” exclaims Sergio in pain. Corazon looks apologetic when she tells him, “Hindi ko po sadya, promise.” (Sorry, I didn’t really mean it.)

After some time, Marimar goes down to the living room area to find Sergio still there. He asks her how she is and she replies that she is alright now. He follows her to the balcony area as they both try to feel what each thinks about the other. Sergio makes a request from Marimar. If possible, he doesn’t want Marimar to take Cruzita away from him. He acquiesces that should she take their daughter abroad, at least to give him their contact number so he could continue being in touch with their child.

In another part of the city, Innocencia is reminiscing the sweet kiss she and a heavily drunken Sergio shared. She looks into the mirror as she touches her lips, hoping for the impossible: that Sergio forgets about Marimar and loves her instead. Her mother, Nanay Leonor, catches her in the moment. She asks, “O bakit nag-iisa kang nakangiti diyan?” (Why are you smiling there all by yourself?)

Marimar tells Sergio her decision of staying put in the country. “Hindi na kami aalis.” Sergio smiles, relieved. “Pabor sa akin yan.” He knows her decision is in his favor. He quickly adds, “Pero kung gusto nyong umalis,” thinking how dangerous it is for his daughter and the woman he loves here in the Philippines, “pwede naman.” He’d rather have them far away and safe than be in the country but always be in danger of kidnapping or whatever crimes.

Marimar softens a bit telling Sergio she is a jealous of their daughter’s affection towards Sergio. “Sa limang taon kaming magkasama, inalagaan ko si Cruzita mag-isa. Nagseselos nga ako dahil ngayon lang kayo nagkita pero hinahanap ka niya.”

Sergio looks into Marimar eyes wanting to say more but instead says, “Thanks for staying.” Marimar in return wants to forgive this man whom she loves with all her heart but keeps her feelings to herself. Instead she replies, “Thanks for rescuing me.”

Prompted by the moment, Sergio tries to make another promise which Marimar quickly cuts off. “Huwag ka nang mangako kung hindi mo kayang tuparin.” (Stop making promises you cannot keep.)

Sergio knows she still hurts inside so he changes his tone and asks for her forgiveness. “Mapapatawad mo ba ako?” He admits he has hurt her recently and in the past. “Sinaktan kita.”

She nods in agreement, “More than you know.” She wants to end them hurting each other so she asks him, “Can you be honest?”

Sergio is quick to reply, “yes”.

Marimar asks him the nagging question in her mind, “Ano ang relasyon ninyo ni Innocencia?” Sergio is honest when he tells her, “Wala.” (Nothing.)

She tells him what she saw, “Nakita ko kayong naghahalikan.” (I saw you kissing.)

Sergio explains. “Lasing na lasing ako noon, akala ko natuloy ang kasal ninyo ni Rodolfo. Naalala ko, nakita kita. Akala ko ikaw yon. Nagulat na lang ako si Innocencia pala.” (I was very drunk. I thought you pushed through with your marriage to Rodolfo. I remember I saw you. I thought it was you. I didn’t know it was Innocencia.)

Nanay Leanor can guess what her daughter is thinking of. She tells her straight waking her from her dreams to reality, “Hindi para sa iyo si Sergio.” (Sergio is not for you.)

Innocencia frowns, reasoning, “Di ba pwedeng umasa man lang?” (Can’t I hope at least?) She whines that Marimar has all the luck especially when it comes to Sergio’s love.

Her mother soothes her, telling her what she already knows. “Tigilan mo na itong kalokohang ito. Si Sergio at si Marimar ang para sa isa’t isa.” (Stop this nonsense. Sergio and Marimar belong together.)

Sergio tries to assure Marimar he’s no longer going to pursue her or force her into anything. “Hindi na kita pipilitin pang mahalin ako.” He is happy that they can talk about things and would accept her friendship, “Kahit maging magkaibigan lang tayo, tatanggapin ko.” He reveals that all he wants is for them to be close by. “Huwag lang kayo lumayo, please.”

Marimar is speechless. Somehow she is not as angry with Sergio anymore, after all he’s done, rescuing her, still caring for her. So they had a fake marriage, so he left her, so he kissed her ex-best friend…so what. Deep down inside she knows there is no other man for her but this man now standing in front of her, moving closer to her until their toes almost touch. She surrenders to the moment as she puts her head on his chest. (Pakipot pa kasi si Marimar eh!)

He tries to keep his arms from embracing the woman he loves to prove to her he wants only to be friends again. He drops his head until it joins hers he takes a deep breath taking in the fragrance of her hair. Can they ever really be just friends when deep inside both know they want nothing but to love one another?

It is morning and Marimar takes joy in the simple act of feeding her daughter. Marimar asks Cruzita, “Sarap?” (Is it delicious?) and she promptly nods, “Opo.” (Yes, it is.)

Cruzita asks her mother if she is going to work and Marimar admits that she is. Cruzita asks whether she can see her father today, if he can come visit her. Marimar smiles at her.

In the Santibanez Motors office the three friends are having a joyful conversation. Arturo and Antonio are getting updates from Sergio. Arturo wants to hear it again, “Bossing talaga, OK na kayo ni Marimar?” (Are you really in good terms now with Marimar?)

Sergio is happy to confirm it, “Oo, inurong na yung restraining order laban sa akin.” He adds that she even voided the restraining order against him.

Antonio asks his friend, “So what are you now?”

Sergio’s smile faded a little when he admits, “We’re friends.”

Corazon enters the dining room with Marimar and Cruzita looking up at the plump cook for news. She tells Marimar that a lady is outside looking for her.

Marimar meets the woman by the lanai area outdoors. She gives her hand to Marimar, “Bella Aldama?” Marimar takes her hand “Yes.” She tells Marimar her name, “Vanessa Mae.” (Played by actress, Lani Mercado)

But Sergio snaps up again as he thinks about his plan of courting Marimar again, “Pero liligawan ko pa rin sha.” Both Arturo and Antonio nod in agreement with Antonio professing, “I support you all the way.”

Vanessa Mae doesn’t waste time to tell Marimar the reason she came, “Kasintahan ko ang ama mo.” (I was your father’s girlfriend.)

Marimar replies, “Walang naman siyang nabanggit.” Gustavo and her didn’t really have time to talk more about themselves given the tragic end Gustavo went through.

Vanessa Mae continues her tale telling Marimar that Gustavo and her parents agreed that she and Gustavo would wed when they come of age. Their families have agreed on this since they were children but she and Gustavo didn’t love each other. Despite having no feelings they did have a relationship that led to her being pregnant. By then Gustavo had met and got head over heels with Lupita so she left not wanting to shame her family. She bore their child but gave it away as soon as the baby was born. Vanessa Mae tells Marimar that she gave the baby to one of their servants.

At the Santibanez Motors office, Innocencia is signing some papers and Arturo notices that she is quieter than usual. “Tahimik ka ata Innocencia?”

The gay driver continues to prod the reason for Innocencia’s self-imposed silence. “Parang di ka masaya dahil nagkabalikan na sina Bossing at Marimar.” (You don’t seem happy now that Sergio and Marimar have gotten back together.) [Err technically, they're not back together but at least they are no longer hostile to each other...well, Marimar is no longer hostile to Sergio.]

Sergio just pretends not to hear this but Innocencia comes to him and says, “I wish you luck, sir” and leaves. Arturo is quite puzzled, “Anong problema noon?” (What’s wrong with her?)

Sergio reasons, “May pinagdadaanan lang siya. Saka ko na lang kakausapin.” (She just going through some things. I’ll talk to her later.)

Normally, most people would doubt incredible stories such as Vanessa Mae had just shared but Marimar looks hopeful, happy even, “May kapatid ako?” (I have a sibling?)

Vanessa Mae nods confirming it. She tells Marimar she is dying and wants to help Marimar find her sister.

Marimar Episode 88 - The one where Marimar meets her kidnapper.

Marimar Episode 88 – The one where Marimar meets her kidnapper
Aired in the UAE 19th December 2007

Monica warns Angelika against her new friend, Carlitos feeling that the man is up to no good and could only harm her friend but on the contrary, Angelika finds it his best and most attractive trait yet as she declares they have many things in common. “Kaya ko nga siya gusto dahil pareho kami, pareho kaming walang konsensiya.”

Dr. Ria tells Renato that she is going to interview him to help him recall his past. He nods signaling his acceptance and cooperation.

Rodolfo tells the police how Sergio had kidnapped Cruzita once. Corazon defends her previous ward telling that police that although Sergio may have taken Cruzita from the hospital but he took her home to Bella. The police listen to both sides and conclude that there could be something, some connection there. Rodolfo adds, to convince the police some more, that he is witness to the countless times Sergio had harassed Bella. “Ilang beses niyang ginulo si Bella?”

Dr. Ria asks, “May asawa?” Renato admits he remembers to have been married twice. He tells her that the first one passed away. As for the second one, Renato recalls a darkness in his mind, one filled with cruelty, suffering and pain. He winces at these memories.

Angelika tells Monica that she is only using Carlitos to take vengeance from Marimar. Monica, intrigued, asks her friend what she plans to do. Angelika back to her old scheming, bi-atchy self declares, “Pagsisisihan ni Marimar na kinalaban nya ako.” (Marimar will rue the day she made an enemy of me.)

Renato admits to Dr. Ria that he had been cruel to his second wife, Angelika. He recalls himself slapping, hitting, hurting his wife and doesn’t like these memories at all.

Rodolfo tells the police how Sergio recently threatened Bella about stopping her from leaving the country with Cruzita.

The police are curious how Sergio can keep harassing Bella when he has a restriction order in force. Rodolfo sees the chance and keeps pressing Sergio so he will be blamed for Marimar’s kidnapping. (Aba parang iba na ang mga ina-asal ni Rodolfo, looks like he has a hand at Marimar’s kidnapping instead of Sergio!)

Esperanza cuts Rodolfo off telling the police that if Sergio is a suspect then they must also consider that possibility but she is convinced Sergio will not do such a thing. “Hindi talaga ako makapaniwala na gagawin niya eto.”

Sergio enters Marimar’s room, the place where she is kept. Marimar is shocked to see him, “Ikaw?” He smiles as he looks down on her.

Marimar still couldn’t believe it is Sergio after all, “Ikaw ang nagpadukot sa akin?”

Sergio looks maniacal in this scene, perhaps he has truly gone nuts, telling Marimar he will do everything to get her back. “Gagawa ako ng paraan para mabawi ka.”

Marimar screams curses at him telling him to let her go. But Sergio has no such plans. “Pakawalan? Hindi, dyan ka lang. Hindi ka makaka-alis dito. Di ba sabi ko sa iyo, dyan ka lang? Akin ka.” (Let you go? No, stay. You can’t leave. Didn’t I tell you to stay? You’re mine.)

Marimar cries as she continues to plead for freedom, “Pakawalan mo ako dito!”

Sergio looks weird, like a crazed man he asks Marimar to tell him she loves him. “Sabihin mo sa akin, mahal mo ako. Sabihin mo!”

Marimar relents, “OO mahal kita. Mahal na mahal kita. Hanggang ngayon mahal kita.” Sergio smiles at her. She adds, “Ngayon alam mo na ang totoo, pakawalan mo ako.” (Now that you know the truth, let me go.)

Marimar wakes up in a jolt finding what transpired to be nothing but a dream. She’s still in the same room, a prisoner, but instead of Sergio it’s the same thug guarding her. Marimar is confused as she voices out one possibility and ask confirmation from her captor, “Si Sergio? Siya ang nagpadukot sa akin?” (Sergio had me kidnapped, him?)

The ruffian just laughs at her and mocks her for sleeping on an empty stomach. “Yan ang hirap sa iyo, natutulog ka na walang laman ang sikmura, kaya kung anu-ano ang napapanaginipan mo.”

Innocencia and Sergio talk. He gives her instructions then leaves immediately. Innocencia ask him where he is going and why is he in such a hurry.

Marimar talks to her captors to set her free and she is willing to pay a price if he wishes. But the brute tells her it is not about money. She can’t her ask which is it about only to be told again to wait.

Sergio tells Innocencia that he wants to go and see Marimar. Innocencia cautions him, “Ipagtatabuyan ka lang niya.” She is only going to send Sergio away, knowing Marimar. Sergio throws caution to the wind telling his secretary that he needs to talk to Marimar immediately. He turns to leave as the police arrive at Sergio’s office.

Marimar tries her luck with the ruffian again this time asking for some food as she felt the pangs of hunger missing several meals. He stands up but mocks her first saying he knew sooner or later she’d succumb to hunger. “Sinasabi ko na nga ba eh, bibigay ka rin.” He tells her to wait in her room and not try anything funny while he goes out and finds something for her to eat.

The police tell Sergio they need to question him about the kidnapping of Miss Aldama. Sergio’s shock is genuine, “Nakidnap si Bella?”

The hired captor returns with food for Marimar. “Kain ka na.” He tells her to eat. She asks for him to loosen the rope tying her hands together so she can eat properly.

Police tell Sergio that he is one of the prime suspects in Miss Aldama’s kidnapping. He shakes his head in disbelief and now with the additional worry about who took Marimar. Innocencia looks at Sergio. Her eyes are accusing and she has suppressed anger in her being as she immediately believes that Sergio may have indeed kidnapped Marimar. He certainly has motive to do so.

Marimar eats but she drops a glass on purpose. The thug is upset that she made such a mess. “Ano ka ba, dito ka pa nagkalat! Babatukan na kita eh!” He goes out to get a broom and dustpan to collect the broken pieces. Unknown to him, Marimar hides a broken shard.

Sergio is taken away by the police.

It is night time and her captors are all asleep. Marimar uses the piece of broken glass to cut the ropes that tie her hands. When she had done freeing her hands, she cuts loose the binds on her feet.

In another part of the same house, a ruffian is fixing the broken glass, putting back the pieces together and discovers a huge chunk missing.

Now free, Marimar moves to the door to leave the room but she hears footsteps coming! It is the ruffian who knows she may have hidden a broken piece of the glass. Marimar opens the window and makes a run for it seeing no one is around.

Rounding a corner she is now somewhere outside the house when a thug stops her. Incredibly agile and strong, she is able to take him down and run away. She is now in the lawn by the side of the house and runs into a car. Out comes the mastermind of her kidnapping. It is none other but…..Rodolfo who points a gun at her.

Rodolfo greets her as she stops in her tracks, shocked about the identity of her captor. “Hello Bella, leaving so soon?”

Marimar gains her composure back, challenges her ex-fiance, “Huwag mong sabihing ikaw ang nagpadukot sa akin.” (Don’t tell me you’re the one who had me kidnapped.)

But he admits it is him indeed, “Yup, ako nga…wala ng iba.”

Marimar is now full of anger, “Hayop ka!” She tries to run away but Rodolfo catches her and they struggle against one another. (Wow, girl power talaga si Marimar – she’s strong and can fight! I like that they made her such instead of a damsel in distress, always waiting for a man to rescue her.)

The police had taken Sergio in their headquarters and are questioning him. They ask where he was the night Marimar got abducted and he replies that he is with his lawyer.

(After fooling me?)

(I thought we already had the talk?)

Sergio tells the police he couldn’t possibly kidnap Marimar as there is a restraining order against him filed by Marimar herself. The police consider this but tell Sergio he has been known to break it several times in the past. Sergio admits he has indeed but explains, “Magulo talaga. Pero mahal ko siya at hindi ko pwedeng gawin sa kanya iyon.” (It is complicated. But I love her and I am not capable of kidnapping her.)

Rodolfo taunts Bella, “Alam mo ban a kaya kita pakakasalan ay dahil sa pera mo?” (Didn’t you know that I was marrying you for your money?)
There is a flashback about Rodolfo talking with his lawyer. The lawyer is telling Rodolfo that his business is bankrupt.

(You played me for a fool so it’s now payback time.)

Flashback again, this time Rodolfo is talking to his hired tugs, giving them instructions about Bella’s schedule, how many guards are in her employ, etc.

Rodolfo toys with Bella, “You are at my mercy. Game? Lahat ng gusto ko, gagawin ko. At lahat ng sasabihin ko, gagawin mo.” (I will do as I wish and whatever I tell you to do, you will do it.)

Sergio tries to convince the police that he has nothing to do with Bella’s kidnapping. He urges them to go and talk to his lawyer who will verify he is indeed with him at the time of Bella’s home was attacked by the kidnappers.

Marimar is livid with rage as she curse Rodolfo. “Hayop ka Rodolfo.”

Rodolfo slaps her hard. “Ang ingay-ingay mo. Tahimik ng lugar na ito.” (You’re too noisy. This is a quiet place.)

Marimar defies him telling him she will have him captured by the police, “Papahuli kita.”

Rodolfo disputes her, “On the contrary, I’m helping the police in looking for you. Bentang-benta ang pagiging concerned friend ko. At alam mo ba (ang) pinaghihinalaan nila? Si Sergio.” (The police are buying into his concerned friend act and suspect Sergio of the crime.)

Marimar stops, remembering her dream. “Sergio?”

Rodolfo feigns sympathy, “Wawa naman no?” (Poor Sergio, yes?)

Sergio stands up after his interview and tells the police that they cannot detain him. He also relates that he is going to look for Marimar.

Marimar tries to bribe Rodolfo, telling him that if he needs money, she can give him. He only has to name his price, so long as he lets her go.

Sergio and Antonio back at the Santibanez Motors office are talking about this recent event in Marimar’s life. Both agree that whoever had her kidnapped will surely demand a huge amount of money.

Rodolfo reveals to Bella his true feelings. “Sayang Bella, gusto kitang asawa. Nahuhulog na nga ang loob ko sa iyo. You’re a perfect package, ang ganda-ganda, dami mo pang pera….I remember the first time I saw you. Hindi sa pagyayabang, I’m quite the debonair. Pero bakit mo ginawa sa akin yon? Isa akong San Jines, at pagbabayaran mo ang pang-gagago mo sa kin!” (What a pity, Bella, I liked you to be my wife. I was already falling for your then. You are the perfect package, so pretty and with lots of money…But why did you have to do that to me? Why fool me? I’m a San Jines and you are going to pay for deceiving me like that!)

Marimar sees that Rodolfo is truly crazy as well as dangerous. She fears for her life as well as for what would happen to Cruzita if she died. For the first time, she perhaps longs for Sergio to come rescue her as she succumbs to fear and cries in her helplessness.

Marimar Episode 84

Marimar Episode 84 – The one with the wedding, where Sergio lets Marimar go
Aired in the UAE on 13th December 2007

Arturo asks if Sergio knows about Marimar’s wedding. “Aabangan ko ito, baka i-televise ito. Invited ka ba?”

Antonio, sensing Sergio’s distress, stops Arturo from further blurting out questions that would only hurt Sergio more.

Corazon exclaims as Cruzita looks very pretty in her yellow gauzy gown. She innocently asks her yaya, “Di ko nab a daddy si Sergio?”

Corazon assures her that no matter what happens, Sergio will always be her father and that will never change. This makes Cruzita very happy and relieved as she shouts, “Yey”

Marimar’s heart in clearly not in this wedding she is having with Rodolfo as she reminisces the past with Sergio, their talk in the gazebo as she cries. She recalls how he asked for her forgiveness and to give him another chance. She remembers well their kiss. But she also recalls how he admitted that their wedding was a fake. She looks at her reflection in the mirror – beautiful in her wedding gown but too sad for a bride.

Sergio is thankful to be given another chance at life. He however is sad, “Buhay nga ako, di ko naman kasama si Marimar at anak ko, sana hinayaan na lang niya akong mamatay. Di ko kaya ito.” He is alive but not happy.

Diego is drinking with Monica in the small living room of their home. Monica is not drinking but just sharing the “pulutan” with her husband who is complaining about Angelika. Angelika comes out angered at the noise they are making. “Ano ba? Natutulog ako ang iingay ninyo!” She notices that the two are in the middle of an argument and asks why. Diego gets up and snaps, “Dahil sa iyo!” and walks out.

Corazon comes to Marimar telling her that everyone is ready and most of the guests are already at the church. It is time for them to go but Corazon notices Marimar had been crying and asks. Marimar brushes her question aside telling her to go ahead and she will follow. But Corazon persists, “Nag-iyak ka? Di ba dapat happy?” Reminding Marimar that a wedding should be a happy occasion especially for the bride.
Marimar pleads Corazon to leave her, not wanting to discuss her sorrow. She wants to be alone with her thoughts for a while but Corazon tells her frankly that she knows the reason why Marimar is sad. “Alam na nako yan, di gusto magpakasal kay Rodolfo. Feels nako yan”

In the church Rodolfo awaits for the wedding ceremonies to begin. He eagerly waits for his bride to arrive. Esperanza complains and is worried what is taking Marimar so long to arrive. The church assistant comes to talk to Rodolfo, asking him whether the wedding is still going to happen as planned as they are already half an hour late. Rodolfo trying hard to control his anger at his growing embarrassment tells the assistant to tell the priest to wait.

Angelika blames this current spat between Monica and her husband on her friend, calling Monica “boba” for marrying Diego. But Monica reminds her that it was Angelika’s idea for Monica to flirt with Diego.

Diego replies that before, Angelika may be able to order him and Monica around but not anymore. He further insults the former queen of Villa Santibanez by saying, “Basura ka na!”

Angelika screams at him, “Bastos!”

Monica still the loyal friend defends Angelika to her own husband telling Diego to stop, “Diego ano ba?”
Diego is firm on his declaration, “Gusto mo manatili dito? Matuto kang makisama!” If Angelika is to remain in their home, she must learn to do her share and no longer act like she owns them. She is after all living off their charity.

Corazon is confused with Marimar’s decision to marry Rodolfo when she doesn’t even love him. “Dili mo sya lab. Pero dili ko kasabut. I don’t understand why you are marrying him.” Then she tells Marimar, “May pagkakataon ka pa, umatras ka na.”

Marimar is firm in her resolve to push through with the wedding and asks Corazon to go and get her necklace.

Back at the church Bruno goes to Rodolfo and asks, “Where’s Bella? All the guests are getting worried already.” Rodolfo tries to call his bride but she has switched off her cell phone.

Marimar tells Corazon as she help her with her preparations, “Matagal ko nang pinag-isipan ito, pero tama ang desisyon ko.”

Corazon still persuades her to listen to her heart as Marimar is clearly not happy with whatever decision she made, “Makinig ka sa akin, hindi utak and pakinggan mo kundi ang puso, kung ano ang sinasabi ng puso mo Inday. Mag-atras ka, hubarin mo ang gown. Wag ka nang magpunta sa church ako ang bahala.”

Angelika is on the streets again looking for customers to sell her body. A dirty-looking fellow takes her to his jeep. Angelika hesitates, “Wala ka bang bahay?” The man admits his mother is at home and points towards his jeep saying, “OK na jan.” Angelika stalls by asking for his money first, “Teka bayad mo?” The man gives her a hundred pesos as he nudges her towards the ominous jeepney, “Tara na.”

Sergio looks at the wedding invite and in his frustration crumples it. Innocencia arrives and sees how upset Sergio is about the wedding. Sergio is sad as he admits to Innocencia, “Di nya ako mahal. Ginawa ko na ang lahat. Wala na akong halaga sa kanya.”

Innocencia wants Sergio to know that Marimar still loves him and tells him about her role in his rescue, “May kailangan kang malaman.”

Guests are already pensive at the church wondering whether the wedding is still going to happen and whether the bride is still coming or not. We overhear snippets of conversations saying, “kawawa naman si Rodolfo…” Rodolfo’s mother tries to silence the murmuring crowd by firmly saying, “Tuloy ang kasal.” She goes to her son and asks him, “Ano ba ang nangyayari?”

Rodolfo, feeling hope leave him, turns to Esperanza, “Tita Esperanza, ano na?” But even Esperanza doesn’t have any clue and her silence only confirm everyone’s growing doubts.

Sergio asks Innocencia, “Ano ang kailangan kong malaman?”

Innocencia reveals that even the rescuers admit they weren’t the one who found Sergio, in fact they were already willing to give up their search.

Bruno asks Rodolfo again, “Ano tuloy ba?”

Rodolfo replies, “Need to, Malaking pera na ginastos ko dito.”

Bruno asks his friend why Rodolfo insists on marrying Marimar. Rodolfo admits that he needs Marimar’s money. Bruno reminds his friend that Marimar doesn’t love him. Rodolfo shrugs, “I don’t care but we are a perfect match.”

Innocencia relates to Sergio that it was a private group who found and rescued him. Sergio realizes this as he says, “Ang ibig mong sabihin…”

Innocencia nods and answers before he finished his query, “may kumuha ng serbisyong iyon. Siya ang dahilan kung bakit buhay at ligtas ka ngayon.”

Sergio asks the inevitable, “Sino?”

Innocencia reveals “Si Marimar.”

Fulgoso arrives in the church in a van with Cruzita. Fulgoso is also wearing a tuxedo, looking quite smug in his canine cuteness.

Esperanza goes out to meet Bella who was genuinely happy that Esperanza found time off to attend the wedding, “Buti naman po nakarating kayo,”

Esperanza tells her niece, “Of course! I wouldn’t miss the most important day of your life.”

Sergio asks Innocencia if what she is saying is true and she confirms it, telling him she is sure. Antonio and Arturo arrive. Antonio asks, “Anong nangyayari dito? Pareho kayong naka-simangot?”

Innocencia declares that she just told Sergio the truth. Sergio finds out that what he thought he just saw in his mind was actually real. “Tama pala ang hinala ko. Si Marimar pala ang nakita kong nagbabantay sa akin.” A spark of hope appears and gives Sergio some strength.

Antonio states the obvious, “Sergio, mahal ka pa niya!”

Arturo is confused, “Eh bakit tuloy ang kasal kay San Jinez?”

Antonio prods Sergio to make his move, and quickly, “hahayaan mo lang ba? Di mo ba siya pupuntahan? Puntahan mo na siya!”

Rodolfo sees the group that just arrived and tells Esperanza that Bella should have been with them.

Bella shows herself and apologises to Rodolfo for being late. Rodolfo smiles and tells her, “It’s OK. Ang mahalaga nandito ka. Bella akala ko nagbago na isip mo. Pero di mo naman gagawin sa akin yon di ba? Una na ako sa loob, mag-ayos ka.” He goes inside to get ready and start their wedding.

Innocencia disagrees with Antonio’s suggestion. “Tapos na ang kasal.” Innocencia notes the time. “Kung pupunta doon si Sergio, anong gagawin nya doon? Kasal na si Marimar at Rodolfo. Respetuhin na lang natin ang desisyon niya.” Telling they guys to just respect Marimar’s decision to wed Rodolfo.

Esperanza is worried for her niece and talks to her. “Are you okay?” She can see that Marimar is not a happy bride. “Napipilitan ka lang, huwag mong ituloy ito. Kitang-kita sa hitsura mo.”

Sergio finally says his piece, “Hindi ko na guguluhin si Marimar. Kung ano man ang dahilan niya, niligtas niya ako, ayaw ko nang malaman pa.”

Antonio isn’t happy with his friend’s apparent acceptance of his defeat, “Sumusuko ka na?”

Marimar explains her side to her aunt, “Dahil sa pag-ibig nagging malungkot ako. At dahil sa pag-ibig puro poot na lang ang nandito sa puso ko. Ngayon sabihin mo sa akin, dapat pa ba akong magtiwala sa pag-ibig?” Esperanza feels for her niece, knowing what Marimar had gone through. She worries for her but says nothing.

Sergio shakes his head, disagreeing with Antonio. He doesn’t feel that he lost, he is only doing what he thinks is right, “Yan ang nararapat kong gawin. Ang hindi na pigilan ang kasal nila.” He is obviously too sad about Marimar marrying Rodolfo but he has finally learned to let go.

Marimar walks towards the church, to the waiting Rodolfo and the rest of her life.

Marimar Episode 82 - The one where Marimar rescues Sergio

Marimar Episode 82 - The one where Marimar rescues Sergio
Aired in the UAE on 11th December 2007

In the crash site, Sergio awakens. He is badly hurt with lots of wounds. He tries to get up. He stands but has a huge cut on his stomach. His clothes are tattered and burnt in many places. He walks away from the burning debris of the plane.

Arturo is praying. He prmosies “Pag nalaman kong safe siya, magbabagong buhay na ako. Di na magpapaka-bading,” he’d turn a new leaf and go straight but takes it back in the end saying, “Etching lang yon!” (Just kidding).

Antonio sends a more serious and sincere prayer for his friend as do Innocencia who adds to herself, “Huwag nyo po sanang pababayaan si Sergio - Ang lalaking pinakamamahal ko.”

Marimar continues to worry that they haven’t found Sergio yet. She fears that he may be badly wounded and may die from his wounds.

Innocencia who is keeping vigil with Arturo and Antonio in the Santibanez Motors office answers a phone call from the rescue team who are informing them that they will be resuming the operations tomorrow. Innocencia got livid with anger screaming that they must do the search today and continue doing so until Sergio has been found.

Corazon asks Marimar for any updates on the search for Sergio. Marimar cries and tells the nanny that she doesn’t want her daughter, Cruzita to know about her father yet. Corazon feels for her ward and comments, “Maaga maulila sa ama.” (She’ll miss her father, losing him this early).

Marimar gets upset at Corazon’s words and insists that Sergio is still alive. “Alam ko, buhay si Sergio!” Just then Cruzita comes asking whether her father has called yet. She reminds Corazon that when Sergio calls and she is asleep, to wake her so that she can talk to her father. Corazon and Marimar exchanged worried glances but try to appear calm for Cruzita’s sake.

The man representing the rescue team who is talking to Innocencia at the other end of the line advises her, “Ihanda ninyo ang mga sarili, may chance na patay na siya.” (Prepare yourselves; there’s a likely chance that he may be dead.)

Innocencia breaks down in tears and Arturo and Antonio console her. (What are you? God that you can dictate whether a person is dead or not? Find Sergio. Please find him!)

Bella is in a meeting with Rodolfo and some of their partners but Bella’s mind is somewhere else. Rodolfo is talking and asks for her opinion but she is clearly distracted and couldn’t answer him.

Angelika complains about the food at the dinner table. Monica keeps silent but Diego couldn’t stand her arrogance as he comments, “Kung gusto mo ng masarap na ulam, bumili ka! Pero paano mo magagawa yan eh wala ka nang pera?” (If you want to eat something you prefer, then go ahead and buy it! But how can you do that now that you no longer have any money?)

Angelika is shocked at his affront and snaps, “Bodyguard lang kita.” (You are only my bodyguard.)

Diego retorts, “Dati yon.” (That was before.) He tells his wife who chose to remain silent, “Pabigat lang siya dito.” (She’s but dead weight around here.)

After their meeting, Rodolfo confronts Bella about not concentrating on their meeting. The ambitious young man adds that he hope the distraction is about their forthcoming wedding. He does have another meeting to run to and so leaves Bella alone with her worries but before that, Bella assures him that their wedding is going to push through as planned.

Monica apologises to Angelika about Diego’s behaviour. Angelika swears to find a job and when she does get by some money she’s going to slap them on Diego’s face. “Isasampal ko sa mukha niya!”

Rodrigo, Marimar’s bodyguard and head of the team presents her with the best rescue team in the country. They are trained in the United States and are based in Zubic (where the US Naval Base used to be). Bella talks to them and assures them that money is not a problem. She adds that should they find and rescue the person, they would also receive a generous bonus. She takes steps to assure that Sergio does get found and rescued.

Sergio is weakened by his many injuries and from the loss of too much blood. He falls down and crawls instead. Unable to go on, he lies on his back on the ground.

Angelika goes back to selling herself to get some cash. She is with a customer but unluckily, he gets caught by his wife who attacks Angelika. In the struggle, she loses her eye patch and the couple cringed at seeing how ugly she is without the patch. They leave her fallen on the ground. She gets up and walks away, conscious of the people who can see how ugly she is.

Renato wants to be released from the hospital but Dra. Ria convinces him to stay awhile. She says that he needs to undergo more tests. (Perhaps I’m paying for the bad deeds I’ve done in the past. Paying for the mistakes I’ve made to my wife and my only son.)

Marimar paces in her home, unable to feel settled until Sergio is found. In her mind she hopes he is safe. “Nasaan ka man ngayon, sana ligtas ka.”

In the forest, Sergio is about to give up. He is in too much pain and suffering and just wants it all to end. “Diyos ko, kung gusto nyo akong junin, tatanggapin kong maluwag sa puso ko ang kamatayan ko. Isa lang po ang hiling ko, kung nasaan man si Marimar ngayon, ihatid nyo sa kanya ang pagmamahal ko.” (God, if you deem it time for my life to end, I accept it wholeheartedly. I ask just one thing: wherever Marimar is right now, send her my love.)

Marimar continues to fret and promises to hold off her plans for revenge agains the man who hurt her the most, the same man she loves more than anyone, the man she hopes is safe and alive. “Pangako, di na ako maghihiganti. Tatanggalin ko na ang poot sa puso ko, iligtas nyo lang po si Sergio.”

Sergio is dying as Marimar, across the seas, cries. Flashback to some of their times spent together, a celebration of the love and life they’ve shared. Sergio leaves them, Marimar and Cruzita, to God. “Kayo na po ang bahala kay Marimar at Cruzita.” He closes his eyes. Rest embraces him along with cold and darkness.

Cruzita asks her mother why her dad has not called her yet. “I miss him.” Declares the child who is starting to feel that something must be wrong. Marimar brushes off her fears assuring her that her father would call her soon, telling Cruzita that Sergio is just busy with his work.

Angelika arrives at Monica and Diego’s home without shoes and with many scratches from the wife who attacked her. Monica looked concerned while Diego appeared annoyed.

Renato asks the pretty doctor why he can recall some things clearly and others, not at all. He gets flashes of some memories but they remain unclear to him. He doesn’t understand many of his recollections. Dr. Ria assures him that this is normal. He suffered through a trauma and in time his memories will all come back.

Angelika cries in front of the couple. She laments that her beauty is gone when it had been one of her assets. “Dati lahat ng babae kina-iingitan ako. Lahat ng lalaki, pinagnanasahan ako.” Women envied her and men wanted her back then.

Monica cries, feeling for her friend’s loss. Diego retorts it is but karma for all the bad things she has done and leaves the two women to cry on each other’s shoulders.

Angelika sees her friend crying and asks, “Monica, naaawa ka ba sa akin?” (Do you feel sorry for me?)

Monica, honest as usual answers, “Nanghihinayang ako doon sa sapatos. Paborito ko kasi yon, pero tama na.” (I feel sad that you lost my shoe, it was one of my favorites but enough.) She calms Angelika down, telling her friend that it’s time to stop crying.

Dra. Ria asks Renato about his earlier statement. “Kanina nabanggit mo na meron kang kasalanan na dapat mong pagbayaran?” (Earlier you mentioned that you are only paying for the evil deeds you’ve done?)

Renato explains, “Masamang tao ako. Di ako naging mabuting asawa at ama. May isang anak ako. Di ko minahal.” (I was a bad person. I haven’t been a good husband and father. I have a son whom I didn’t love.)

The doctor gives him hope. “May pagkakataon pa para baguhin ang sarili.” (There is time to change one’s self.)

Renato turns his back on the kindly doctor as he lets the tears of regret roll down. Dra. Ria looks on her patient with worry.

Marimar, in safari fashion, joins the rescue team as they search for Sergio in the forest. (Nice song by Gerald Santos!) She calls out Sergio’s name. Somewhere in the area, Sergio dies. His face turns white as his soul leaves his body. (My five year old daughter commented that Sergio looked like a gorilla when he turned pale!)

A light comes from a short distance and Sergio’s soul, now in while t-shirt (he was wearing a blue polo shirt) and jeans (sana white pants na rin!), walks over to the light. He smiles as he finds eternal rest.

Marimar walks towards the body, calling for Sergio and turns around and finds something, she runs towards it as she realises it’s Sergio. She drops her hat and kneels down beside Sergio’s body. She listens for his heartbeat as she calls for the rest of the team to come to where she is. She has found Sergio! She removes her jacket to cover his body. (Mind you all done in slow-motion....with the song still on.)

Sergio’s soul looks back from the light to see Marimar beside his mortal remaims. He smiles, happy to see his love and goes back towards his body where she is now crouched. He sits beside the woman he loves, watching her as she covers him with her jacket. He feels her need of him, and of his own need, to be with her, overpowering death. His soul returns to his body.

Sergio inhales and opens his eyes to find Marimar. He closes them again as the rest of the team come to their aid. They give the survivor first aid and put him in a stretcher bound for the best hospitals in Manila.

Marimar rescued the man she loves. Sergio lives.

Marimar Episode 79

Marimar Episode 79 – The one where Marimar finds out about Innocencia and Cruzita secretly meeting Sergio

Aired in the UAE on Thursday, 6th December 2007

In the scuffle that follows, Marimar is able to push Angelika who was still wielding the dangerous fork about, intending to physically harm (read that: Kill!) Marimar. She falls to the ground, and the pointed kitchen equipment hit her. She screams as she felt the injury.

Antonio gathered enough courage to ask Innocencia for lunch but the loyal secretary declares that she is waiting for Sergio. Antonio is curious as he asks her, whether Sergio ordered Innocencia to stag and wait for him or not. The young woman didn’t want to admit it at first but then divulged that her mother cooked some pasta which is Sergio’s favorite and so she brought some for him.

Antonio comments how a good secretary she is which is why Arturo is suspecting there is more to it that just being a secretary. Antonio tells Innocencia that Arturo suspects her of falling for Sergio with all she’s been doing for their boss.

This doesn’t sound well on Innocencia’s ears prompting her to give the young man a huge frown as she walks out of the office.

In the hospital, nurses are gossiping how the pretty doctor is showing much concern for her comatose patient. One adds that Dra. Ria once had a boyfriend who died in a coma which explains why she is so concerned for their John Doe.

Antonio however doesn’t let up and confronts Innocencia. He tells the young woman that it is clear that Sergio loves only Marimar and if Innocencia continues with her feelings for Sergio, she will only get hurt in the end. "Masasaktan ka lang."

But Innocencia is also stubborn. She declares, "Wala na sila." They, Sergio and Marimar are through.

Antonio tries to make her see reason, that Sergio would be unable to return the same feelings for her as he only has Marimar in his heart.

Innocencia, hurt, changes the subject. "Kung magla-lunch ka, mag-lunch ka mag-isa mo!" Telling Anotnio to go have lunch alone as she walks out on him again.

Angelika screams "Akin ito!" Referring to the villa. Marimar reminds her it is no longer hers. Rodolfo joins in telling Angelika she no longer has any money.

Angelika confronts Marimar, "Sinong demonyo ang dinadasalan mo?" Asks her who is the powerful demon she is worshipping who is giving her so much power. But Marimar tells her enemy she is with God. "Diyos ang kakampi ko!"

Police come to take Angelika away. She would be taken to the hospital first to get her wound tended and then later to prison.

Rodolfo was fairly upset and showed genuine concern for his fiancee.

Angelika makes a scene at the hospital as she continues to lash out at doctors and nurses in her anger. Police restrain her and force her to settle down. She demands, "Hindi nyo ba ako gagamutin?" (Aren’t you even going to attend to my wound?)

The nurse explains that they are just waiting for the doctor. Angelika tries to be sarcastic, "Saan siya galing, sa Baguio?" Noting that it’s been quite some time that she’s been there and no one seems keen on helping her. She declares she doesn’t want to become blind.

Marimar calls the police and they update her about Angelika. After the call, Rodolfo who is listening sees a glint of a smile in her lips as she says, "Padalos-dalos kasi siya, buti na lang. At least now, pwede ko na siya sampahan ng kaso." Marimar is considering suing Angelika.

This prompts Rodolfo to comment how grave Marimar’s anger on Angelika seems to appear.
Dr. Ria arrives and tells Angelika they need to operate on her eye. Angelika still blames everything on Marimar.

Marimar tells Rodolfo that if she told him everything that Angelika did to her, he may say what she’s done is nothing compared to her enemy’s evildoings in the past. Rodolfo tells her enough revenge. They should focus on their wedding and he looks around the resort appreciatively as he suggests that they can hold it here.

Marimar hesitates. "Kailangan bang engrande? Pwede bang simple na lang?" (Does it have to be grand? Couldn’t it be simple?)

But Rodolfo has made up his mind to an elaborate wedding. "Everyone expects na engrande and kasal natin. Isa akong San Gines, isa kang Aldama..." They are influential and powerful families and everyone expects them to have a grand wedding.

Angelika couldn’t believe what the doctor is telling her. Dr. Ria says that her cornea in ther right eye got hit. "Bulag na ang isang mata mo." She wouldn’t be able to see in her right eye. The cornea had been too damaged.

Police come to take her to prison but she pretends she needed to thank the kind doctor first. One of the policemen can see through her telling her this is just one of her delaying tactics. They underestimated her strength though. Angelika was able to push one of the policemen and run away.

Getting a call from the police, Marimar is upset how they let Angelika slip past them. She orders them to do all they can to capture her.

Fulgoso, hearing the escape can only comment, "Ibang klase talaga si Angelika no?"
Rodolfo, hearing from Bella the latest fears for their lives at the resort. He convinces her to return to Manila where it could safer.

Fulgoso offers his services to his mistress. "Gusto mo ba ng guard doggy? Babantayan kita, bente-kwatro oras."

Rodolfo urges her to return to Manila and after some persuading, Marimar gives in and agrees, "Mas mabuti nga siguro." (Perhaps it would be for the best.)

Sergio reads the newspaper and sees an announcement about Marimar and Rodolfo’s wedding. "May petsa na pala ang kasal nin Marimar at San Gines." (So Marimar and San Gines have set a date for their wedding.)

Arturo asks whether it is mentioned somewhere if the identity of the couturier who will be designing Marimar’s gown have been made known.

(She is going to marry Rodolfo when she doesn’t really love him!)

Innocencia is taking Cruzita out to meet Sergio again, prompting the nanny to comment, "Napapadala ang pagtakas mo kay Cruzita. Magagalit si Bella."

The young woman reminds the nanny that, "Di malalaman ni Marimar kung walang magsusumbong." (Marimar won’t find out if no one would tell.) Giving Corazon a harsh look.
Corazon admits that she is not the type who betrays people’s trust easily but if Bella asks, she will definitely tell her mistress the truth. She looks straight at Innocencia daring the young woman to try and accuse her again. (Go Corazon! I love her for being loyal to Sergio then to Marimar and fighting Innocencia who seems to have forgotten it is Marimar who should be her friend here and not take advantage of her absence by stealing Sergio!)

Arturo explains to his boss that Marimar isn’t that shallow to marry off with someone just to hurt Sergio. (Although Sergio did just that to Angelika not so long ago...thus, this telenovela we all watch!) He tells the racer that it could be possible that Bella likes Rodolfo. "Baka naman talagang love din niya si Rodolfo." Sergio admits that in Marimar’s case, he no longer has any say but in Cruzita’s perhaps he has got some hope.

(I can see Arturo telling Sergio to move on for the sake of his friend not getting hurt anymore. But Innocencia is telling Sergio to move on and consider other women, with the intent that Sergio falls for her. See now who is the better friend? Juding man, mabait din but remember when Arturo himself was harboring feelings for Sergio? He had been guilty of keeping Sergio and Marimar apart a few years – oh well episodes really – back!)

Corazon and Innocencia continue to argue and the young woman is defending her side telling the plump nanny that she is sure Cruzita will not tell Marimar about their meetings with Sergio. Corazon is angry that she can allow a child to lie when she should teach Cruzita about being honest. Innocencia, in the midst of their argument almost slips saying "Mahal ko si Ser.....Cruzita!" Making Corazon raise one of her eyebrows to the ceiling.

Innocencia defends that it is her love and concern for Cruzita that pushed her to give father and daughter some time together. Calmly Corazon adds, "Sana lang, huwag nating gamitin ang bata for our pesonal gains." Hinting that she knows Innocencia may have some feelings for Sergio and is using the child to be closer to him.

Diego and Monica live in a simple home but they look happy and truly do care for one another. He declares that finally they are both free from Angelika’s tyrannical ways. Monica bites her finger as she forgot to tell her husband that Angelika, the tyrant is coming over to live with them for a while.

(Monica is really a good friend. She did enjoy benefits when Angelika ruled over Villa Santibanez and she is just returning the favor to her friend. Diego should understand this instead of acting weird like he didn’t do anything bad in the past. He had some hand at Marimar’s grief and lately at Renato’s although he did feel pity on his ex-boss and saved him by leaving him near the hospital.)

Sergio arrives at Marimar’s home to pick up Cruzita and Innocencia. Corazon is hesitant but gives in when she sees how excited and happy Cruzita looks. Innocencia looks like a girl let loose in a candy store too. Both Corazon and Nanay Leonor look worried with Corazon calling out to Sergio, "Sir uwi kayong maaga sir." (Please try to come home early, sir.)

Because of the incident with Angelika escaping the police, Marimar unexpectedly decided to come home earlier than planned. Nanay Leonor meets her at the gate, greeting one another warmly. Fifi is also happy to see Fulgoso back. Marimar asks where Cruzita is. Corazon changes the subject, buying for some time and asks her why she returned a bit early. Marimar explains she wants to surprise her daughter and again looks for her. "Asan ang anak ko?" Corazon and Leonor look at one another, unable to speak.

Innocencia, Cruzita and Sergio have a picnic at the park. Innocencia suggests they watch a movie afterwards as there is a good movie for kids showing in the theaters. Cruzita doesn't like movies and Sergio realised he has never taken Marimar to a movie theater when they were together. Sergio admits that he does like watching movies. Innocencia is glad to have something in common with Sergio which he doesn't share with Marimar. She tells Sergio that she likes romantic comedies best.

Getting no response from the two women, Marimar asks them again where Cruzita is. Corazon is forced to tell her that Cruzita left with Innocencia.

Sergio shares that he likes adventure flicks. Cruzita butts in saying, "Ako rin!" Imitating his father. Sergio teases his daughter, "Bolera ka talaga!" (You are such a kidder) and Sergio asks who he got the trait from, him or her mom. Innocencia smiles happy to be sharing this time with the man she loves.

Diego is upset that Angelika is living with them. Monica restrains him from speaking loudly as he may wake Angelika up.

Angelika however is oblivious to the couple's arguments as she removes the bandage covering her blinded eye. She cries as she stares at her face in the mirror. "Hindi pwede itong hitsura ko. Hindi ako pwedeng pangit!" (This could not be. My face, I mustn't be ugly!)

The trio at the park take pictures with Innocencia taking the role of photographer. Marimar arrives witnessing the happy event. No one sees her at first but Cruzita glances her way and shouts, "Mommy!" Innocencia and Sergio freeze, not knowing what to do. Both look her way and say her name, "Marimar."

Marimar grabs Cruzita telling her daughter it's time for them to go home. "Halika na uwi na tayo."

Innocencia tries to run after her, "Marimar, alam kong galit ka..." She tells her friend that she can understand how upset she must be.

Marimar explodes, "Buti alam mo! Pinagkatiwalaan kita, trinaydor mo ako!" (Good that you know I'm upset. I trusted you and yet you betrayed me!)

Innocencia tries to defend her actions, "Hindi kita trinaydor, ginawa ko lang ang tama." (I didn't betray you, I only did what I think was right.)

Marimar walks back to the woman she thought was her friend and slaps her hard. Sergio tries to defend Innocencia, by reacting to Marimar's rash action but decides to remain silent, for now.
Marimar stares hard at them both as she turns and walks out.

Marimar Episode 77

Marimar Episode 77 – The one with the other mud scene
Aired in the UAE on 4th December 2007

Marimar tells Angelika to take the key but she has to use her mouth to fish it out of the muddy puddle just as she once asked Marimar to do with a diamond-studded bracelet. Angelika pauses, considering her options as Marimar raises her voice in question, “Gagawin mo ba o hindi? Ano?” prompting Angelika whether she would do it or not.

Sergio is in his office, still feeling quite low at his recent situation being far away from Marimar and Cruzita. He is looking at the pictures taken by Corazon on that happy afternoon when they first spent some quality time together as a family, especially the shot where he and Marimar kissed with Cruzita beaming happily.

Arturo walks in, complete with black eyeliner and a new haircut. He notices how somber his boss’ face looks so he tries to cheer the young racer up. “Bossing magki-Christmas na, pang-semana santa pa yang mukha mo. Be happy!”

Sergio shares that he is just remembering Cruzita, “Mabilis lumaki, ang daldal!” How quickly she is growing up and how talkative she is. This brings a wistful smile on Sergio’s face. His gay driver who once carried the torch for him comments that it’s a good thing Sergio was able to convince Innocencia to connive with him into letting him see his daughter while Marimar is away. Sergio nods his agreement but he admits to his long-time friend, “Hindi lang naman si Cruzita ang gusto ko makasama, siyempre pati si Marimar.” It’s not only Cruzita he wants to be with but of course also Marimar.

Angelika stoops low to bite off the key to the villa from the mud. She cries as she does this while Marimar smiles in triumph. Perfect and Mike look on in disbelief. Angelika defeated, keeps on sobbing while Marimar let out a laugh.

Sergio and Arturo continue their conversation with the former admitting he wants his small family to be complete, “Gusto ko buo ang pamilya ko. Gusto ko, sabay kami matulog, sabay naming palakihin ang anak namin…” Sergio shares his deepest desires to his childhood playmate. Arturo feels sorry for his friend but tells him to face the reality that these may not be possible now and as time goes by, Sergio’s relationship with Marimar seems to worsen. Sergio sighs as he blames none other than Angelika for this recent misunderstanding with the one woman he truly loves.

Monica rushes to the Villa Santibanez gates asking what the commotion is all about and Perfecta fills her in. Upon hearing what Marimar made Angelika do, Monica shares that the former Senora Santibanez did the same thing to Marimar back then. Diego who arrived with Monica adds, “Buti nga sa kanya.” The former bodyguard obviously didn’t like Angelika as he makes known that it only serves her right for the things she’s done in the past.

Sergio regrets the decisions he has made in his past. He tells Arturo that if he didn’t leave then, to race in Macau, perhaps he and Marimar would still be together now. Arturo reminds him that nothing is certain especially with someone like Angelika plotting and scheming at every opportunity to break them apart. She would have made sure Sergio and Marimar got separated at whatever the cost.

(If ever there was the chance that some demon lived on earth, that would be none other than Angelika and if there was someone who suffered under her, it is none other than Marimar.)

Sergio can only agree with Arturo’s observations and adds that Angelika will only get what’s due her for everything she has done. “Kaya kakarmahin din siya.”

Marimar holds her head high as she wins over her greatest enemy. “Desperada ka na talaga Angelika. Hindi ko inakalang magagawa mo ito.” She admits to Angelika that she didn’t think the former haughty queen of Villa Santibanez would stoop so low.

(I regret what I have done and promise to be a good friend to you from now on, like when we were kids. Do you remember how happy we were then? Give me one more chance.)

The nurse excitedly called and told the lady doctor that Renato’s hands moved. The kind woman checked Renato for any signs of life but he continues to be comatose. She turns to tell the nurse that perhaps it was just her imagination, thinking she saw the mysterious patient move. It could also be just the man’s bodily reflexes and nothing more. The doctor shares to the nurse what their superior had told her. The hospital is only giving the unknown patient a week to show any signs of recovery. Both women look on the patient, pitying him for having no one else, not even a single family by his side.

Angelika asks for Marimar forgiveness and proposes that they start again. She grovels at her former nemesis’ yellow shoes.

Arturo and Sergio continue to talk with the former noting, “Madaling manloko itong si Angelika. Sa una magbabait-baitan sa huli may motibo.” She quickly fools others pretending to be quite goody-goody at first but with a motive in the end.

Marimar shrugs off Angelika’s pleas. “Anong akala mo sa akin? Tanga? Di na ako tulad ng dati na kaya mong lokohin.” (What do you think I am? Stupid? I am no longer like before whom you could easily fool.)

Angelika reminds her of her earlier promise of letting the former owner of the resort stay. “Sabi mo pag pinulot ko di mo ako papa-alisin.”

Marimar mocks Angelika’s naiveté just like the latter had once done to her, in so many instances. “At naniwala ka naman!”

Angelika’s rage is evident as she tries to fight Marimar for the cruelty her once childhood pal is showing her, “Sinungaling ka! Humanda ka, papatayin kita!” (You’re such a liar! I will kill you, you watch out!)

Sergio agrees with Arturo about his observation regarding Angelika. “Di na dapat pagkatiwalaan ang salita ni Angelika.” She shouldn’t be trusted with anything, not her words or her deeds.

Marimar has finished with her tormentor and orders her men to take her away. “Alisin nyo na yan, basura lang yan dito.” Just like trash to be thrown out. Just like what Angelika did to her in the past.

Monica cries as she feels sorry for her friend but Marimar turns to all the witnesses and states, “Ang lahat na nasa labas ng gate, di na pwede pumasok.” The crowd quickly inches inward, including Monica who has no choice but to obey the new resort owner.

Innocencia receives a bouquet of beautiful flowers from Sergio, thanking her for helping him spend some time with Cruzita. She is obviously still in love with her former and current boss and cherishes the sweet gesture. Arturo arrives and sees how thrilled Innocencia is to receive Sergio’s token of thanks. He asks her, “Curious lang ako, bakit mo tinutulungan si Sergio? Di ba close kayo ni Marimar?” (Why are you helping Sergio when Marimar is supposed to be your closest friend?)

Innocencia defends herself explaining it is for Cruzita’s sake. Arturo prods further, suspecting another deeper reason, “May iba pa bang dahilan?” But Innocencia denies anything else beside what she stated. Arturo is certain the young woman has a crush on Sergio but is keeping it secret.

Angelika is walking on the street (sexy pa rin ang lola mo!) as she curses Marimar for evicting her out of her home and life of luxury. “Hayop na Marimar yan! Ang bigat-bigat ng dala ko. Nagkakakalyo na ako!”

Just then she sees a wooden cart. She puts her huge luggage in it and pushes it. A woman runs to her screaming “Akin yan!” that the cart belongs to her but Angelika pushes her off causing her to fall on the ground. “Ano ba? Akin na ito at pwede ba, maligo ka, baho?” She not only managed to insult the poor woman, she also took off with her cart. (Oh Angelika, you are truly bad to the bone!)

Innocencia agrees to meet with Sergio in the park again with Cruzita. Sergio tells Antonio to take charge while he goes off to rendezvous with his daughter and secretary. Antonio comments it is good Marimar hasn’t suspected anything yet and Sergio admits this is all because she is out of town. Indeed it would be much difficult if she were around.

Innocencia looks quite pleased as she orders Corazon to prepare Cruzita’s things as she is accompanying the child for an outing. This time, she will be going by herself and Corazon will be left at home. When the nanny tries to complain, explaining she is the nanny and should accompany her ward anywhere Cruzita goes; Innocencia reminds her that this is better this way. Should Marimar find out, Corazon won’t be blamed for having a hand at conniving with Sergio. Especially when she had already made it known to Innocencia, during the first time they met secretly with Sergio, that she will be forced to tell the truth to Marimar.

Sundin mo na lang ang utos ko.” Innocencia advised the concerned nanny to just follow her orders.

Arturo and Antonio are discussing the recent turn of events particularly Innocencia’s willingness to help Sergio spend time with his daughter. Sergio just listens to his friends as Arturo comments, “Kahit anong papagawa kay Innocencia, susundin. Kesahodang mag-away sila ni Marimar. Ganyan naman talaga ang babaeng in love.” (Whatever Sergio asks of Innocencia, she will do it. Nevermind her having to face the possibility of severing her friendship with Marimar. Most women in love are the same.)

Anotnio seems shocked at this revelation, granting he harbors feelings for Innocencia himself. “In love si Innocencia kay Sergio?” Even Sergio is astonished hearing this.

In Bella’s home, Innocencia’s mother, is talking to her daughter telling her what she is doing is wrong. She fears Bella will find out about Innocencia helping Sergio and disobeying Marimar’s strict orders about keeping Cruzita away from her father.

Sergio contests Arturo’s observations telling his friends that Innocencia and him are just friends and that they shouldn’t put any color into their relationship. But Arturo insists and even teases Antonio a little saying, “Hindi ka niya type, si Sergio ang type ni Innocencia.”

At this, Antonio defends himself declaring, “Hoy number 7 ako sa Manila’s Most Desirable!”

But Arturo is quick to point out, “At number 1 si Sergio!”

Sergio stops their bickering as he reminds both that he is no longer a bachelor. He hadn't been for quite some time now considering himself married to Marimar in all this time.

In another argument, mother and daughter continue to defend their views. Nanay Leonor reminds her daughter that she has not rights to make any decision as she is not Cruzita’s mother. Marimar is and she has the right to forbid her daughter from seeing his wayward father.

Meantime at the Villa Santibanez, new things are being done. Several of Bella’s men have taken down the sign and are now asking her for directions on what to do with it. Bella coldly declares, “Itapon nyo o sunugin!” Throw it away or burn it, she orders.

Monica is present and approaches Marimar to apologise for being mean to her in the past.

Marimar looks at her and asks, “Di ba kasabwat ka sa lahat ng ginawa ni Angelika?”

Diego defends her wife saying, “Maam, napilitan lang ho si Monica.” Monica was coerced by Angelika into doing her orders.

Monica apologises but Marimar is keen on revenge. She states, “Huli na. Mag-empake ka na.”

Angelika finds a house that is for lease and talks to the owner about it. The owner explains that the monthly rent is five thousand pesos and she would require a month’s deposit and another for advance. Angelika asks if the house’s bathroom has a bathtub.

The owner discovers Angelika doesn’t even have any money and mocks her, “Wala ka palang pera pa-bathtub-bathtub ka pa!”

Angelika tries to call her friend, Monica on her cell phone but she doesn’t answer.

Back at the resort, Marimar tells all. “Maraming pagbabago ang mangyayari. Kung ayaw nyo, malaya kayong umalis. Simula sa araw na ito, tatawagin ninyo ako bilang si Bella at ang sinumang tumawag sa akin ng Marimar ay masisisante agad. Hindi na rin ito Villa Santibanez. Mula sa araw na ito, ang resort ay kikilalaning Villa Aldama.”

Angelika moves on to look for other possible homes but runs into Nicandro.

Sergio, Cruzita and Innocencia meet at the park (the same one as before). Sergio asks why Corazon is not with them and Innocencia offers she can take care of Cruzita herself and she doesn’t want Corazon to also take blame for what they’re doing.

Marimar orders Perfecta to prepare the Executive Suites as she has guests coming to the resort. Perfect asks where Bella is staying, whether it be in her old home (shared with Sergio) or at the mansion. Bella confirms she will stay in the mansion and thus Perfecta must clean it well. She dismisses Perfecta and sits down to eat.

Rodolfo arrives at the Villa Aldama with his friend Bruno. She didn’t expect him to arrive so soon and this clearly shows in her face. Rodolfo coaxes her to smile for him. She asks what he is doing there and he smiles as he says, “I’m here to help you.”

Sergio thanks Innocencia for doing him this favor and apologises that she had to be party to this matter. Telling Sergio that she is friends with not only Marimar but also Sergio. (Hey girl, wala ka talagang loyalty! Now kaka-inis ka na ha. Despite me feeling sorry for cutie Sergio, dapat firm ang loyalties mo kay Marimar. Afterall she helped you and your mom a lot. Also you spent a longer time with her and know her well. Kahit pa love mo si Sergio, dapat good and faithful friend ka. Says much about her lack of moral fibre. I can see her being one of the “balakids” for Marimar and Sergio not getting back together.)

Nicandro and Angelika exchange stories about latest events at the villa. Nicandro admits he left as soon as he saw that Marimar was the new owner. “Baka pakulong ako nun.” He confesses that he feared Marimar will send him to prison after all he has done to her. Angelika blames him for all their misfortunes telling him had he not fumbled on killing Marimar in the past, they wouldn’t be in this mess now.

Rodolfo and Bella are celebrating. He proposes a toast, “To your new business acquisition and to our prosperous marriage. Cheers baby!” (Urgh, I hate Rodolfo calling Marimar baby. It’s so patronising and couldn’t Marimar herself not see him for the slimeball that he is? Better the enemy you know than the one you don’t, Bella. I’d take Sergio any day over Rodolfo. But I guess there’s lies the allure that keeps the episodes coming and the viewers watching.)

Rodolfo comments that the area is quite good but points out that there are a lot more nice places that she could have bought.

Marimar admits that she bought the place because this is where she and Sergio first met. This is also the place where Sergio brought her after they got married.

So you bought this for sentimental reasons,” Rodolfo now realizes the significance of the resort to Bella.

No,” she coldly tells him, “I bought this for revenge.”

Nicandro invites Angelika to love with him in his shack. He tells her not to be angry. She will have a place to stay in the least. He suggests a more intimate sharing between them and Angelika moves to slap him for his insolence but he stops her and flatly tells her the painful reality, “Wala ka nang pera. Wala ka nang kapangyarihan. Lamang pa ako sa iyo dahil ako may bahay, ikaw wala.”

Nicandro tells her to consider living with him. Angelika points out she has no money to pay him rent. He suggests alternative ways of payment and he touches her arm suggestively. The former Senora Santibanez frowns but keeps her silence as she considers her options.

Marimar Episode 76

Marimar Episode 76 – The one where Angelika gets thrown out of Villa Santibanez (aired in the UAE on Monday, 3rd December 2007)

Angelika is shocked to learn that the new owner of Villa Santibanez is none other than the woman who stole her greatest love away from her, Marimar. She demands, “Anong ginagawa mo dito?” (What are you doing here?)

Fulgoso also makes an entrance wearing a blue shirt and complete with paw studs! He silently declares, “Ayayay! Magkakaroon pa ng away. Marimar kampi ako sa iyo.” (Oh no, looks like a fight is coming up. Marimar I’m on your side) Ever the loyal companion of our heroine turned vindictive heiress, Fulgoso is always at hand to help Marimar.

Attorney Romualdez makes it clear to Angelika, “Siya ang boss ko.” Indicating Marimar is the owner of Ramiram Real Estates and her boss.

Marimar adds, “Gusto mo daw ako makilala?” (I was told that you wanted to meet me?)

In a park somewhere, Sergio thanks Innocencia and Corazon for bringing Cruzita to meet him. Father and daughter are obviously happy to be together but Corazon has reservations, making it plain she isn’t in favor of this whole expedition, “Anong sasabihin ni Bella.” (What would Bella say if she ever found out.)

Marimar continues her attack, “Naghanda ka pa pala para i-welcome ako. How sweet! I’m touched.” (You even made special preparations to welcome me.)

Monica realizes that Ramiram is Marimar spelled backwards and takes a step forward and bows at Marimar like someone worshipping a god. Angelika swats her head to make her stop acting stupid. Monica almost fell forward but was able to keep her balance. She returns in her original stance now getting more and more worried about their future at the resort with Marimar being the new owner.

Angelika continues to protest telling the lawyer that she will just return their payment so she can keep the resort. Monica balks, reminding Angelika she has already used all the money.

Corazon speaks to Innocencia asking her how the latter could do this; betray Bella who is supposed to be her best friend. Innocencia admits that she had no other choice as Sergio caught her talking to Bella over the phone.

Flashback to Sergio confronting Innocencia. He tells the young woman to not let Marimar know that he already knows about their relationship. He also forces her to be the secret ally he has on Bella’s camp to ensure that he continues to see his daughter. He tells her, “Kailangan ko ang anak ko. Kailangan ako ni Cruzita.” (I need my daughter. Cruzita needs me.)

Innocencia also tells the plump nanny that she isn’t in favor of Marimar trying to separate Cruzita from Sergio. Corazon agrees with her but she makes it plain that, “Wala akong magawa dahil katulong lang.” (I can’t do anything as I am just the nanny.)

Marimar cuts Angelika’s and Monica’s conversation, “Kahit maglapas ka pa ng pera, which I doubt (you have), hindi na maibabalik pa.” She tells her and everyone in the lobby present that she is the new owner of Villa Santibanez.

She walks around looking at familiar and new faces as she makes her speech, “Alam kong kilala nyo ako pati ang dati kong pagkatao. Hindi ba’t minamata nyo siya noon? Inaalipusta at pinagtatawanan? Pwes, hindi na siya ang babaeng iyon. Kikilalanin nyo ako bilang si Bella Aldama.” (I know many of you know me as well as the person I used to be. Didn’t you look down on her so then? Laughed and mocked her? Well that person no longer exists. You will all know me as Bella Aldama.)

Corazon makes plain the reason for her worry, “Magagalit si Bella kapag nalaman niya ito.” (Bella would surely be upset if she finds out about this.) Innocencia pleads Corazon to keep this meeting a secret. Bella is indeed her best friend and she doesn’t want Bella to lose her trust in Innocencia. Corazon agrees she will keep this one a secret for Cruzita’s sake.

Father and daughter bond. Cruzita asks if her father missed her. Sergio declares he missed Cruzita so much. The child laughs in delight feeling how much her father loves her.

Corazon tells Innocencia that she will keep this one a secret from Marimar but also makes it known that next time Bella asks, she will have to tell her the truth.

Cruzita tells her father that she hope he and her mother would be able to get back together. Sergio assures her that he is fixing everything but in the meantime, reminds Cruzita to love her mother. The child declares she does love her mother and asks Sergio if he loves Marimar. Sergio doesn’t think twice with his answer, “Of course. I love you both.” Cruzita smiles and hugs her father.

(The first step is to throw out all the trash in this resort and that trash is none other but you, Angelika. I’m giving you a day to pack your bags and leave or I will personally have your thrown out to the dumps that you deserve.)

Angelika in her last attempt to save face, “Hindi mo ako pwedeng palayasin dahil ako ang may-ari ng Villa Santibanez!” (You cannot throw me out because I am still the owner of Villa Santibanez!)

“Bobo! Hindi ka na may-ari dahil binili ko na ito. Di ka ba nagbabasa ng kontrata? Bobo ka talaga! Di ba ikaw ang nagbasa ng sulat ni Sergio noon?” (Stupid! You are no longer the owner as I have already purchased this resort from you. Didn’t you read the contract? You are such an idiot! Weren’t you the one who read Sergio’s letter to me before?)

Angelika is shocked to be slapped by the harsh truth. But Marimar is not yet finished. She tells Angelika bluntly that the land, the air she breathes, everything around them belongs to her. The only property that Angelika owns are the clothes on her back. Angelika lashes out, “Hayop ka!” as she moves to attack Marimar but the numerous guards get to her first and restrain her.

Marimar comes to her and slaps her hard. “Mas hayop ka! Lumayas ka kung ayaw mong tuluyan kitang patayin!”

Angelika struggles from the men who hold her and yells, “Hayop ka!”

Marimar orders her thugs, “Takpan ang bibig ng babaeng yan. Masyadong masangsang!” At once a muscled assistant covers Angelika’s mouth muffling her shouts and insults towards Marimar. (Ay bongga! Ibang level na talaga si Marimar! Serves Angelika right for doing the same to Renato just a while back and for all her cruelties towards Marimar. But still I preferred our heroine to be magnanimous in her victory.)

Renato is being carefully monitored by the kind and pretty doctor who found him. She asks the comatose Santibanez who he is and whether he’s got any family, a wife perhaps, who are worried about him. She wonders why no one seems to be looking for him. She hopes that he awakens soon.

Angelika talks to her lawyer. She asks him why he didn’t investigate about the identity of the buyer. The lawyer claims no fault as Angelika already received their payment and signed the contract. He did warn her earlier that if she sold her shares, she would be selling the resort as she has the majority at 70%. Marimar is indeed the new owner now.

Angelika cannot accept the fact but her lawyer reprimanded her that she should have read the contract thoroughly first before she signed. Even if she wanted to buy back the resort she no longer has any money. She even had to pawn off her jewelleries to pay off her debts at the casino.

A nurse comes to the lady doctor who looks with pity at Renato. She tells her that Dr. Sison wants to see her and she leaves to meet her superior. Renato’s hand twitches, showing a sign of hope.

Sergio and Cruzita play games and as she wants to eat her apple, Sergio scrubs the fruit on his shirt to “clean” it first. They play a cute game hiding and finding the apple. Innocencia and Corazon look on happily. Just then Bella calls Innocencia’s cell phone as the former reports at how shocked Angelika had been when she arrived. She asks about her daughter and Innocencia assures her that everything is find and that she shouldn’t worry about Cruzita. Marimar declares she isn’t worried about Cruzita at all, certain that with both Innocencia and Corazon looking after her, her daughter are in good and capable hands.

After an afternoon of play, Cruzita had fallen asleep in her father’s arms. Sergio too had managed to doze off and the two women wake them up, reminding Sergio it’s time for them to go home. Sergio wanted to take them home but the restraining order against him still stands so he bids farewell to his daughter and thanks Corazon and Innocencia again.

“Bye daddy, I love you.”

“I can’t wait to see you.”

Sergio tells Cruzita to keep this a secret from her mother. He looked very sad so Cruzita tells him not to be sad, instead be happy and smile. How very much like Marimar used to do to Sergio whenever he looked problematic! Father and daughter bid goddbyes with Sergio sending flying kisses to Cruzita.

Angelika drinks at Monica comes to keep her company. Diego tells Monica that Angelika deserves what she is getting but Monica, ever the loyal friend tells her husband that she pities Angelika and “Kahit evil pa siya, kakausapin ko pa rin siya dahil friend ko siya.” (I wish all friends are like Monica, unthinking doormats who are ever loyal)

Monica asks Angelika what are her plans as she’s been given an ultimatum by the new owner. Angelika declares she is not leaving Villa Santibanez as this is her home. “Hindi ako aalis dito. Bahay ko ito.”

“Wala ka nab a talagang pera?” (Don’t you have any money left?) Monica asks if she’s got any more money and Angelika takes out a hundred peso bill from her wallet stating that this is all the money that she has in the world. “Eto na lahat. Isang daan.”

In a rare moment, Angelika shares her humble past with the only friend she has left. “Laki ako sa hirap, lagi walang pera.”

One day, she tells Monica, her father just up and left leaving her alone without any money or food. She learned to fend for herself. “Isang daang piso kapalit ng puri ko.” She reveals she had to sell herself for a hundred pesos just to survive.

Then she met Sergio, the man she loves. But Sergio cannot afford to help her out of the mud she’d made for herself so instead of using her heart, she used her head and seduced Sergio’s father instead. “Kaya naisip kong pakasalan ang may hawak ng pera ng mga Santibanez – si Renato.”

Monica tells her that she did have it all once. It is just unfortunate that she lost it. She tells Monica she is afraid to go back to being poor. She once had it all but now she is back to having nothing. She is willing to do anything just so she doesn’t go back to being poor again. “Ayaw ko nang maghirap. Ayaw ko na. Lahat gagawin ko para di na bumalik doon.” Monica starts to cry, feeling truly sorry for her friend.

Guards take Angelika to the gate of the resort. She struggles as they drag her out of the premises. Angelika calls on Perfecta to help her but the woman can only look at her mistress with pity.

By the gate, Marimar waits with more men. They drop a huge luggage beside Angelika. “Ayan ang mga damit mo, baka akalain mo pinag-interesan ko pa yang mga yan.” (There are your clothes. You may think I had any interest in them.)

Angelika begs Marimar to let her stay as she has nowhere else to go. “Bakit ikaw, naisip mo ba kung may mapupuntahan ako?” Reminding Angelika she once threw Marimar out not even thinking is she too had any place to go then.

“Buntis ako noon. Pinapatay mo pa ako di ba?” (I was pregnant then yet you threw me out. Didn’t you think about that? You even had me killed remember?) Marimar continues to get payback.

“Maawa ka, patawarin mo ako.” (Have pity, please forgive me.) Angelika implores her old friend.

But Marimar is not moved, “Bakit ikaw, naawa ka? Pinagtawanan mo lang ako noon.” (Why did you give me any pity? You even laughed at me then)

Angelika grovels as she almost kisses Marimar yellow (yellow!) shoes, “Wala na akong pera, walang matitirhan, maawa ka sa akin.” (I haven’t got any money, no place to stay, please have pity on me.)

(I will do everything you want just let me stay.)

“Lahat?” Marimar gets an idea and wants to know if Angelika will indeed do as she asks. “Sige, tingnan natin kung gaano ka ka-desperada.” (Let’s see just how desperate you are.)

She helps Angelika stand. “Hindi na kita papalayasin.” (I won’t throw you out anymore.)

Angelika gets a glimmer of hope as Marimar shows her the key to the resort’s mansion. “Eto ang susi ng Villa.” As Angelika tries to grab it, Marimar throws it in a muddy puddle. “Kunin mo ang susing yan sa putikan, gamit ang iyong bibig.” (Pick that key from the mud, using only your mouth.)

Angelika is shocked, unable to believe how everything she has done to Marimar before is now happening to her. Karma honey, it really comes round.

Marimar Episode 73

Marimar Episode 73 – The one where Marimar slaps Sergio and swears vengeance

Angelika drops the bomb: Sergio’s and Marimar’s marriage was a fake.

(Who would have thought that the lowly Marimar would turn out to be an heiress. Had Sergio known it before, he may have made your marriage legal.)

She rubs it, “Hindi mo pala siya tunay na asawa dahil ang kasal nyo ay peke isang kasinungalingan, isang kalokohan.” (You’re not really married because it was all a fake. It was all lies.)

Marimar is now in tears and tries to digest what Angelika declared. She looks at Sergio who is now seething with anger for his ex-girlfriend but also remorse for his stupidity thinking no one would ever discover his secret. He remains silent, afraid to further make matters worse.

Angelika continues her attack, “Bakit Marimar, hindi mo ba gusto ang narinig mo?” (Didn’t you like what you heard?)

Marimar tries to defend herself and Sergio at first declaring the impossibility of their marriage being a fake when the official of the municipality itself married them off. Angelika refutes that Sergio paid off that official to ensure their marriage to be illegal. “Walang bisa ang kasal ninyo. Kasal-kasalan lang iyon.”

Marimar tells Angelika to shut up. This only causes Angelika to bait Marimar into asking Sergio. Marimar now confronts Sergio as Angelika smiles sweetly, clearly winning this battle.

(Tell me the truth. Angelika is lying isn’t she?)

Sergio couldn’t even begin to speak, prompting Marimar to doubt their marriage, “O kalokohan ang kasal nating dalawa?” (Or was our marriage the lie?) She forces Sergio to tell her which one is the truth.

Back at Santibanez Motors, Antonio is shocked at Arturo’s revelations that Sergio’s and Marimar’s wedding is nothing but a fake. Arturo explains that at first Sergio had no intention of going through with his and Marimar’s wedding. He just wanted to use Marimar to make Angelika jealous and to get back at his father for marrying his girlfriend. So Sergio arranged everything with someone from the municipality to make it look like a wedding.

Antonio is still in shock. He couldn’t believe how Sergio had just used Marimar, living with her and treating her as his wife when all that time, their marriage was a fake.

Sergio sabihin mo sa akin ang totoo. Peke ba ang kasal natin o hindi.” She asks Sergio to tell her right there and then but he pleads he will explain if they are alone together and not when others are around – like at that moment, Angelika is happily gloating behind him.

But Marimar is not listening to him anymore. All she wants to know is the truth about their wedding. She also wants to know it right now. She cries feeling hurt, frustrated and afraid that she would not like what the truth will bring.

Sergio tries to change the subject as Marimar’s tears fall, “Ayaw kong nakikitang umiiyak ka eh.” (I don’t want to see you crying.)

Ayaw mo akong makitang umiiyak pero patuloy mo akong pinaiiyak.” (You don’t want seeing me cry but you continue to make me cry.)

Please naman pakinggan mo ako.” (Please listen to me)

Sabihin mo sa akin ang totoo.” (Tell me the truth)

Angelika butts in, “Sergio umamin ka na, dala ko ang katibayan” she waves the envelope, telling both that she has got the evidence with her.

Tumahimik ka!” Sergio turns to Angelika and slaps her hard shouting at her to shut up. He faces Marimar, eyes pleading.

So Arturo….” Antonio thinks and shakes his head, “sira ba ang ulo nitong si Sergio? Ginamit lang niya si Marimar?” He still couldn’t imagine how Sergio could be brutally heartless to the point of lunacy.

Sergio did truly fall for Marimar in the course of their relationship. It is obvious how he adores her, how he continues to pursue her.

Arturo this changes everything. Antonio explains how this could affest Sergio’s still very fragile relations with Marimar and could lose him the chance to become Cruzita’s father.

Sergio tries to calm Marimar down and apologises, “Patawarin mo ako.” Then he admits the truth, “Pero totoo. Peke ang kasal natin.” (Forgive me but it’s true. Our marriage was fake.)

Marimar is now full of anger and hate as she slaps Sergio hard, Angelika still nursing the sting caused by Sergio’s hand can only smile as the couple breaks apart.

Upstairs in her bedroom, Cruzita is asking Corazon about her parents’ wedding. “Nung kinasal nandun ka ba?” She asks her nanny whether Corazon was present on her parents’ wedding. The ex-cook told the young child that she wasn’t although she saw both afterwards and exclaimed that Cruzita’s mom looked very pretty and that Marimar was truly in love with her father.

In the garden, the battle had only just began with Marimar exploding, years of pain and hardship now a massive ball of hatred that she unleashes to the only man she loved, “Walang hiya ka! Bakit mo ginawa sa akin ito? Anong kasalanan ko sa iyo?” (How dare you! How could you do this to me? What wrong did I ever do to you?)

Angelika now sure of the Marimar-Sergio break up adds more insult to injury, “Pinakasalan ka ni Sergio para pagselosin ako. Yun lang.” (He married you so he could get back at me. That’s that.)

Marimar stops and looks questioningly at her fake husband looking for some form of denial or confirmation, “Totoo ba ito Sergio?” Angelika’s laugh confirms Sergio’s silence.

(I was so immature back then and made foolish and hasty decisions. I admit I did that to make Angelika jealous at first but that is not the case anymore. I’ve regretted what I’ve done in the past, believe me.)

Marimar is now hardened by her hate as she slaps Sergio again and shouts at him, “Walang hiya ka, manloloko ka! Bakit mo ako ginamit?” (How dare you fool me! How could you use me?)

Sergio grabs her as he tries to explain his side but she is no longer open to reason. She exclaims, “Bitawan mo ako. Alam mo kung anong tingin ko sa inyo? Nandidiri ako sa inyong dalawa.” (Let me go! Do you know what I think about you? I loathe you!) Marimar looks at them both to mean she can’t bear to see the both of them.

Angelika reacts, still the bi-atch, “Bakit pati ako dinamay mo? Buti nga sinabi ko pa sa iyo.” (Why include me? You ought to be thankful that I told you.)

Marimar screams at them, “Magsama kayong dalawa!” (To hell with the both of you!)

(I’ve regretted all that I’ve done and ready to right all the wrongs I’ve made. Believe me and give me that chance.)

Marimar is in too much pain as she tells her husband, “Sergio sinabi mo sa akin na hindi mo na ako sasaktan.” (But you told me a while ago that you’d never hurt me again.)

Totoo hindi kita sasaktan.” ( I wouldn’t hurt you again.)

Sinasaktan mo ako!” (You are hurting me now!)

Sergio halika na.” (Let’s go Sergio) Angelika calls Sergio to go and leave with him.

Corazon and Cruzita continue to talk about Sergio and Marimar’s wedding. Corazon tells the child that all her mom wanted was to marry Sergio. Cruzita asks about Sergio, to which Corazon replies that of course, Sergio loves her mom otherwise he wouldn’t have asked her to marry him. Unknown to them, this very issue of the fateful wedding is unfolding in the garden downstairs.

(Did you know that our wedding day was the happiest day of my life? Who was I then? Some simple, naïve lass you’ve taken a liking to, given a pair of shoes to her unshod feet…)

Hindi totoo yan Marimar mahal kita.” (That’s not true Marimar, I love you.)

(Enough, I don’t want to hear anymore of your lies. You’re such a user, you make fools out of people.)

Marimar...”

(You know what is the biggest mistake I’ve made? Is to love you more than my life. What did you do to me? You fooled me, hurt me. I died at what you did to me.)

She pushes Sergio. “Tama na Sergio, tama na. Lumayas kayo sa pamamahay ko. Ayaw na ayaw kong makita ang pagmumukha mo. Kinasusuklaman kita! Lumayas kayong dalawa mga hayop kayo! Guard!” (Enough Sergio, leave my house. I don’t ever want to see you again. I hate you. Leave now both of you!)

Guards come to take Sergio and Angelika. Sergio keeps looking at Marimar who continues to spew out her hatred and pain. “Mga walang hiya kayo!”

Sergio wants to go to her and comfort her but she screams at him, “Hayop ka Sergio!” As she falls on her knees, her pain too much to handle.

Sergio looks on recalling their farewell at the beach when he left for Macau. The woman he loves is in the same position, the tears the same gravity, but when once was filled with love, Marimar screaming then how much she loved him; this time Marimar is filled with hate screaming how much she abhors him.

Outside, Angelika convinces Sergio to come with him. “Sergio mahal mo ako, pinaksalan mo si Marimar para pagselosin ako.” (You love me. You married Marimar just to make me jealous.)

Lumayo ka sa akin. Huwag kang lumapit sa akin baka mapatay kita!” (Get away from me. Don’t come closer or I might kill you.)

Sergio, huwag ka naming magalit sa akin. Ibinuko kita kay Marimar dahil kailangan niyang malaman yon. Andito naman ako eh. Handa na ako na magsama tayo.” (Don’t be angry with me. I told you out because Marimar needed to know the truth. I’m here and I’m ready for us to be together.)

Sergio tells Angelika the brutal truth that he didn’t really love her and may have used Marimar to get back at his father who he considers his rival in all things. Angelika too had been but an object they were fighting over, a mere plaything.

Marimar cries as she recalls what happened at the gazebo just moments before the bomb Angelika revealed. How Sergio seemed sincere and honest with his remorse and his willingness to erase all the pains of the past. “Isang malaking kasinungalingan lang ang pagsasama naming dalawa ni Sergio.” Marimar cries to her best friend, Innocencia how her and Sergio’s wedding had all been a huge setup full of lies.

Napakahayop niya!” Marimar continues to share her pain with the usually quiet and wise Innocencia. She tells her friend that she loved Sergio but he just made a fool out of her. He didn’t really love her and didn’t intend to marry her.

Innocencia, ever the voice of reason asked the obviously hurt Marimar if she gave Sergio the chance to explain himself.

(What for? He already admitted that he just used me for Angelika!) Marimar snaps.

Meantime outside, Angelika convinces Sergio that they live together. “Sergio mahal mo ako, why don’t you just admit it?” (I love only Marimar. I may not have loved her when I married her but I’ve learned to love her more than myself.)

Hindi totoo yan. Ako ang mahal mo.” Angelika denies what Sergio says is true.

Hindi. Kinasusuklaman kita. Live with it.”

Angelika calls Sergio to take back what he said but he’s already walked away. Monica comes to her friend’s side. “Friend ano ka ba? Ang linaw linaw na nga ng sinabi niya, “live”, umalis na daw tayo.” (Live with it, honey Monica not Leave with it! Hahahaha!)

Innocencia tells Marimar that perhaps that could be Sergio’s initial intentions but has learned to love her during their time together. Marimar has already hardened her heart again. “Hindi siya marunong magmahal. Wala siyang puso. Pinagsamantalahan niya ang pag-ibig ko sa kanya! Sinusumpa ko silang dalawa ni Angelika, mga walang-hiya sila!”

Marimar huwag mong hayaang sirain ni Angelika ang relasyon ninyong dalawa ni Sergio.” Innocencia calmly pleads with her friend not to allow Angelika to destroy her’s and Sergio’s relationship. Knowing her evil ways, Angelika had never stopped trying to break them apart.

Marimar’s one-track mind is closed to any form of reason. She blames Sergio for everything. She swears never to get fooled by him again. She swears never to give him any chance to hurt her again.

Sergio is now with his friends, Antonio and Arturo who are consoling him but also asking him to stop drinking any more as he is now too drunk. But Sergio is angry at himself and the stupid mistakes he has done in his past that he wants to forget them. He is thinking how Angelika found out about his marriage, the one thing he kept secret and only he and Arturo knew about. “Kelan ba niya ako tatantanan?” Sergio shouts when Angelika will stop pestering her.

Antonio butts in that if he were Marimar, he’s be so upset with him too. Besides, any secret is bound to be brought out in the open anyway. Sergio admits his mistakes and wants the chance to make up for them. He loves Marimar truly now. Antonio tells his friend that perhaps this is the karma of what he’s done in the past.

Angelika and Monica drink too, in a bar, both women seem thoughtful. That Sergio couldn’t accept that she chose his father over him.

Which caused Angelika to pull at Monica’s hair.

Unable to accept the obvious reason, Angelika blames everything on Marimar. “Lecheng Marimar na yan. Nagi-guilty lang si Sergio dahil sa ginawa kanya.”

Arturo sighs how bad the timing is. Just when Sergio and Marimar are finally getting their relationship on track, then something like this comes up to keep them farther apart. Sergio is earnest is his plan to win back Marimar. “Kahit ano gagawin ko para mapatawad niya ako. Hindi ko kayang mawala si Marimar sa akin.”

Monica tells Angelika to stop drinking. “Gusto ko talaga magpakalasing. Gusto ko makalimutan ang problema kahit sandali lang.”

Speaking of problems…” Monica tells Angelika that lawyers wants her to settle their many problems and debts at the resort. Angelika gets more upset with her and forces her to drink with her. Monica complains, “Hindi masarap.” That it doesn’t taste good but drinks it anyway than suffer Angelika’s wrath. The queen of Villa Santibanez curses her nemesi, “Lecheng Marimar na yan!”

Angelika meets the lawyer about the problems the resort is facing and he reveals there are five cases filed against Villa Santibanez. “And why is it my problem?” Was all Angelika could reply.

The lawyer tells her it is her problem being the head of the company. When she made Renato sign the papers transferring everything to her, she also gained full control of the company. “Dahil sa kapabayaan mo nalugi nang nalugi ang resort.”

Innocecia tells Marimar that Major Santos will be sending her additional men to ensure she is under constant police protection. Brenda, the woman they hired to represent them at the casino is also ready.

Angelika’s lawyer is convincing her to sell her shares, this will not only allow Villa Santibanez to pay of all its debts, Angelika will also come by some money. Angelika likes that idea and excitedly shouts, “Go!” Her lawyer cautions her, being the major share-holder, that if she sells her shares, she is selling Villa Santibanez.

Angelika’s lawyer gets a call from an Atty. Romualdez. Angelika’s lawyer tells her that at real estate company, Ramiram Real Estate wants to buy Villa Santibanez and wants to meet with them today. Angelika seems open to negotiations.

Back in Manila, Marimar tells Innocencia that it’s time. “Oras na ng paniningil ko. At sinusumpa ko, hindi matatapos ang linggong ito, luluhod silang dalawa sa akin.”

My take: If you really love Sergio and want your relationship to work, then the mere fact that you’ve made declarations of love in the gazebo and have forgiven the past, then any amount of bomb from the past shouldn’t matter right? Parang ang bilis naman ng turnaround ng kanyang feelings when just a while ago, eh may pa puso-puso chuva pa siya kay Sergio. Also, she should know that Angelika is just out to ruin her so she shouldn’t really take her news to heart, although she may be accurate at times. Di ba parang ganun na rin naman yung dating nung eksena nila sa burol where she got shot, so dapat nothing new na ito. Kung love pa rin nya si Sergio, go, go, go!
